Hey I Was Wondering abotu the (canon powershot ELPH)How Did you rendering this ino its1080p buh everytime i do it it loses quality?? or what program you use to edit the footage PLZ I NEED THIS
@med822 She's not showing her cleavage on purpose. She's filming the first part with the Canon EOS, and the Canon ELPH has a wide lense which will obviously give us a bigger picture. Pay attention to what she's saying next time.
I wonder how the video quality on the Canon S100 would compare to the 300HS. Both the S100 and 300HS shoot 1080p @ 24 fps. Would there be a discernible difference?
Old tech doesn't equal bad or irrelevant tech. And it is not about megapixels, it is about censor. That is why a 12 mp Canon camera can snap better shots than a 16.2 mp Sony camera.
But I'm probably going for the 300HS since I'm probably gonna get it for Christmas (yay!). The audio difference is noticeable...but I've watched plenty of vloggers who use a 300HS and am okay with that. Me, I like the portability.
Nice Video! Just wondering what Class SD card you're using when the sensor overheats? I was told using a Class 6 or above card would reduce or completely eliminate the chances of overheating.
@JHundreds - I used a Sony Class 4 sdhc card with NO issues. i get nearly 18Mbps Read/ 15Mbps Write. For a Class 4, if i am not mistaken that's Class 6-10 range.
DON'T be fooled with all these cards listing as "Class 10" cards. About 60% of the market is flooded with false spec/class cards & usually have errors. I've seen Class 10 cards be way slower than my Class 4.
After 5-10min recording video straight. Thats more due to the 300hs being so compact/thin, so its to be expected.
@JHundreds - Oh also to point out. I decided to so a low level format on the card (in camera) and that helped it a lot. Speeds went up a bit (same as i listed in last message). Also the panning stutter side to side in 1080p mode, was reduced greatly due to it. Not sure why. Anyways, panning regardless with any HD camera will cause do it, how much depends on lots of things.
BTW, the Canon manual states clearly "Class 6 or Higher". And I am sure its right. But RESEARCH your choices!
I just picked up a Canon ELPH 300 HS a couple of weeks ago. I got a great deal on it. I originally paid $165 from Staples. Then I saw amazon bring down their price to $150. So I then called Staples over the phone and they price matched it. So Paid $125 + tax = $135. (I had originally used a $25 off coupon when first purchasing.) You can get those at coupon sites.
first!!! i got to say but cameras are awesome color correction can't worry to much on that see unlike the dslr cameras we got the pro cameras like the sony pmw f3 is the most highly power and unstoppable camcorder there is you don't really need color correction every time you do a 1080p video the price may be out rage but its the most powerful camera that cinematographers use and for fight choreography I'm gonna get that long time in the future.btw have you play the uncharted series?
offffffffff! nice!

The obvious thing I noticed, was the doorframe to your left (our right) seemed curved with the first camera.

You can plug the 300HS into a monitor using the included AV cable if you want to see the screen while recording.

@AzureCressington do you know how to make it turn in to a camera web? I've seen people do that but I can`t find the right instructions...

would you recommend the Canon 300 HS or the Sony HDR-CX160 for a beginner YouTuber. In ratio of quality to price.
