  • @DaveyTreeExpertCo Thanks for the quick reply! Hey I just planted a live oak tree in my front yard, do the roots spread along the surface or do they go deep under ground, because I fear that I might have planted it to close to my yard, the tree is about 4 and half feet tall?

    Most trees active roots are within the top 12 inches of soil. But you will have to make sure you have enough room for the Live Oak to grow above ground. The Live Oak is an excellent street tree of the Southern U.S. They grow to be large, sprawling, picturesque trees. Live Oaks can reach 40 to 60 feet in height and grow a 60- to 100-foot spread, providing large areas of shade.
