I wish people would quit Bitching about a Final Fantasy 7 remake. Final Fantasy titles don't revolve around Cloud and Sephiroth. In fact I am beginning to hate 7 because of the over kill of the spin offs, not saying it wasn't a good game, but come on there are better titles before 7 and after 7, and FF 13 and 13-2 was no exception. The heavy metal was a nice touch, its about damn time Square Enix refreshed the final fantasy series with something new.

Frankly, many of the changes they made to XIII-2 brought be -back- to the series after an extended period of disillusionment, so I think this game was the opposite: a kick in the right direction for the franchise.

Square Enix have made some decent games, but they wouldn't know how to write an ending if you flat-out showed them. Just look at the amount of Final Fantasy sequels there are... and then there's the nightmarishly convoluted mess that is Kingdom Hearts. Say what you want about the game, you can't deny that there's absolutely no closure to anything.

Heck, as good as XIII-2's story is, its existence pretty much proves my point.

@SauruKakera I honestly liked X-2's gameplay. The story was ridiculous and the characters were impossible to relate to, but the job-switching system worked well, there was no Sphere Grid (which I hated) and no Tidus (I refuse to go for 100% completion). All good moves in my book.

Like the battle against Gogmagog, you had to quickly switch to "Twin Towers" (I think...) so you won't take as much damage. It also helps you to beat those really hard enemies quicker. What I didn't like about it, was that you only had 3 classes you could choose for your 3rd party member.

I don't see why a game should have to make us manually upgrade our characters if we have no real control over their natural progression (Snow will never match Hope for magic, and by the time Lulu gets, say, the first of Auron's physical skills he'll have them all). It just seems like the game could save us the trouble with traditional levelling-up.

Of course, the entire theme of the song is paradoxes, so... Whatever. Also, because FFXIII was received poorly, and a lot of people don't like sequels, they're predisposed to dislike any given thing about XIII-2.

Oh, jeez. I'm rather appalled by some of the old FF fans. The day the so-called "true" FF fans start using language from the gutter to insult this game is probably the day they should just stop playing all FF's in general.
