Great clips! USA Today actually published a full 8 page review of Pakistan's "rising" economy on Dec. 16 2007. Check in their archives to see if you can find it. It was amazing. They showed pictures of Emaar's projects in Karachi and Islamabad. Very Nice. All that was back when the $ was worth 62RS. I wonder if these projects will be completed or just be another one of the governments failed plans.

InshAllah they will be completed. The only thing holding them back is instability. Many companies and people have invested in Pakistan. Even now, although things are not in order, companies are staying put in Pakistan as there will be great benefits in the long term. Also I would like to add that the inflation problem is global, but developing economies are more vulnerable and therfore get hit harder.

Dont Worry, these are being built by private comapnies and the Government wont have a big hand in these. Pakistan's private sector is extremely capable of things that people think would be impossible in Pakistan. It just needs more funding from the government.

Actually they have already started laying the foundations for manny of these buildings as the link above shows. I have also seen this when I was in Pakistan last year.
