Amazing radio man, and nice antenna. I worked France a couple of times last month with a 10 meter dipole facing north to south. They gave me a 5&9, worked them with about 110 watts on a tube radio.
We should really be into cycle 24 now, and at this time of year the 10 metre band should now be open between the US and Northern Europe about every day. It soon will be, anyway. And on 10 metres you can work 'em with a piece of wet string and a few watts.
Have worked quite a few US stations this year on 10, but mostly the path has been to South America and the Carribean.

3El Cushcraft beam. That station was peaking high at times and almost fading away at times.
