  • @HattieLovesCattie I agree! I think comparing the two Laurence seemed to be the more lyrical skater who could jump well, she seemed to have the whole package-the kind the judges favored more back in the day. Sjouke seemed more of a power skater-her double axel was enormous!

  • @faeryquene Sjouke reminds me of Tonya Harding in some ways.I visited a famous cemetery near Boston and later I realized that the Owens are buried there in a masoluem there.If I ever am back in Boston,I will check that building out.

  • Another wonderful piece of skating history. This appears to be the 1964 ISU tour of champions. Great to see a clip of Sepp Schonmetzler doing his famous exhibition. Very creative for the era!! Thanks so much for sharing this here!
