Have you ever considered Ubuntu Linux? It's more secure and more reliable than even the latest version of Windows. It's also free. You can try it out without even installing it on your computer; there are plenty of videos on youtube explaining how.
You'd be amazed how much free software there is out there that's professionally made and quite good.

#3 is a good thing you put, because if you had no virus protection on xp and went to youareanidiot, xp wouldn't handle over 100 pop-ups and then would crash but in vista if you had no virus protection but kept it up-to-date and went to youareanidiot, it would survive it because it would be 1 window instead of loads of pop-ups.

My dad's company actually downgraded their new Vista laptops to XP, as suggested by their IT department. No stopping Vista? I'm not seeing Vista installed by default on any new computers now. @hvrock13 You're really wrong. It's really safe, Ive only got 1 virus in the whole time that i have had vista and it removed the virus just like that. And it really does run smooth, it's not slow. It's a good speed, Maybe even better than good speed. Also i've seen vista download as defualt OS on many computers.

If I were spending that on a PC, it'd be for something more worthwhile, like something productive. You already mentioned the interface.. but no, that's an opinion. Theres always something wrong with Windows, no matter what version. For example, XP was quite ugly.. Everything was big on the screen, all the interface elements anyway. Then Vista came, to be the next big thing apparently.. Well, everyone knows the horror stories everyone had before the SP1 upgrade. Still, the damage was done. 7 is much better than vista, my cousins always comes to play games on my computer cuz in vista games such as vice city, san andreas etc does not run well.
My Friend's dad bout a laptop, an HP Pavillion about 2 years ago, it came with vista, and he's used it ever since and it has never ever crashed. EVER. So that proves that it isn't that bad, but can still be choppy every now and then.
If you want eye candy run Linux. Most of the eye candy features in the Apple and Microsoft OS offerings were pioneered in Linux. When Apple and Microsoft adopt the cube desktop and call it a new thing I'm gonna laugh my ass off again. I'm not biased. I like them all.

@Bennboy13 Performance took a serious hit with Vista. People who want to get there work done fast don't like to wait more. There were a whole bunch of other problems like peoples hard drives running when they weren't doing anything, etc. Some call it a feature (like prefetch) while others considered it a bug. I personally think it's pretty good once you get it configured correctly but still light years behind Linux in terms of desktop features like the cube desktop, etc.
true-true! vista is as you said and is good ...but what I like in vista is MS paint :) really ,because it has the zoom out so if you scan a picture and its so big and it will not fit in window you can just zoom out and you got comfortable viewing.okay cheer!

The reason why vista takes much memory is 1 because it needs is but also because the logic thinking is that unused memmory is useless memory. If you got 2gb memmory you got more than enough to run vista, if you got 4 you got to much. Vista uses the extra 2 to run faster and more smooth. I only have good experience with vista;)
i can only come up with 2 good things about Vista...yes the new search feature is really made easier, but you may also undo up to about 10 times on MS paint =D

Actually when xp came out everyone was bitching because it uses too much ram... Back in those days ram costed about 4 times more then now. Vista uses 2 times more ram than xp does, but it costs 4 times less. so actually it should save you half your money on ram or you can get twice as much ram installed. XP also sucked becouse when it just came out it didnt had any antivirus. It took microsoft 6 years and hondreds of updates before xp became safer and better in use.

It depends on if you have a vista-made computer or not. Vista-made computers are very good and some of them like mine have a second hard drive for the default programs.
I don't know what it means to be a vista-made computer .. mine is toshiba satellite a200 .. and it is not compatible with xp ,unless you use a windows with sata driver and so , they gave me a vista copy with it .... let me tell you skype crashes .. windows explorer crashes all the time.. even a very light program like foxit reader.. vista sucks .. check the other video of this guy saying the opposite .. it is more honest anyway

Actually I think that Windows is the worst shit out there, it crashes always, especially when you need it NOT to crash;and you have to take care of it. With Mac you don't have to. Macs work better than PCs, they are stable and fast. You pay the quality of a good computer: hardware and software. I regret to tell you that everyone copied Apple in everything. Vista is an improvement; I'll give it that. But your last reason (#1) makes me think you should instead call this list "reasons to go with windows vista" instead of why we love it. Essentially, you are saying how vista is an improvement in the 9 reasons, but you say the biggest reason we love vista is because we have to use it now? actually no, it uses your graphic hardware to display the desktop instead of waisting your CPUs power on it. But, if you have a crappy graphics card, then you'll take a performance hit.
Your the reason why the world can make progress. leave xp behind its old , go to windows 7 or at least vista sp2 so driver makers will stop making things for xp and focus on devloping better drivers for the o.s systems based on NT 6.x
Personally I never experienced a single crash, blue screen, freeze or any other problems with Vista, and I was an early 2007 adopter, maybe that's because I'm a techie or maybe I just got lucky, but it seems that now a days people tend to blame everything on either Vista or a virus and I can't stand it, it's just another way for people to blame someone or something else for problems they're having.
I'm at the point where I don't believe Vista ever had any problems that couldn't be easily fixed.

And, as far as IE6 goes, yeah it will load much faster as it was written for much slower computers and doesn't support many newer standards and features but I wouldn't say it "works" faster. Many major websites (e.g. YouTube) are dropping support for it because it's too expensive adding all the work arounds to make the website work in IE6.
SP3 stands for Service Pack 3 and i ment why did it come out while vista was allready released.. shoudent microsoft be releasing Service Packs for vista instead of XP?... because people knew that vista was crap so microsoft decided to release another service pack to see if xp crashes as much as vista and one of the things (more than 10 reasons) i hate vista is the annoying browser glitch "address is not valid" when i try to enter my router, IE7 and IE8 are the worst browsers in the WORDL!
...and when people call in with internet problems thinking it's the modem or the router, the internet works on another computer that does not have vista, and wirelessly xp CAN connect and vista does not and it's a linksys wireless N, people figure that vista should be more compatible with wireless N but it's not, and i can't download another browser because IE8 does not let me download anything... face it dude Vista is the worst thing that ever came out of microsft's butt hole

lol, as I was watching this video on my vista computer, my internet froze and I got a "your internet has stopped working" pop-up and it restarted.
Vista = fail.
I'd rather have my old crap XP than have everything freeze and restart on me constantly and all the other BS that comes with vista.
The cons far outnumber the pros with vista.
Next time, I'm going mac. Screw Windows.

Vista's release in Januari 2007 and 7's release in september 2009 (well, almost 2 years)
If you look in the history book of windows you'll find windows 95, windows 95 with internet explorer, windows 98, windows 98 second edition, windows 2000 AND windows ME, windows XP.
2. Just as all old OS's are dead, so will vista be in a year or 2, mayby three...
All this in 6 years, from 1995 windows 95 to 2001 windows XP

The reason why vista takes much memory is 1 because it needs is but also because the logic thinking is that unused memmory is useless memory. If you got 2gb memmory you got more than enough to run vista, if you got 4 you got to much. Vista uses the extra 2 to run faster and more smooth. I only have good experience with vista;)

Actually when xp came out everyone was bitching because it uses too much ram... Back in those days ram costed about 4 times more then now. Vista uses 2 times more ram than xp does, but it costs 4 times less. so actually it should save you half your money on ram or you can get twice as much ram installed. XP also sucked becouse when it just came out it didnt had any antivirus. It took microsoft 6 years and hondreds of updates before xp became safer and better in use.

I don't know what it means to be a vista-made computer .. mine is toshiba satellite a200 .. and it is not compatible with xp ,unless you use a windows with sata driver and so , they gave me a vista copy with it .... let me tell you skype crashes .. windows explorer crashes all the time.. even a very light program like foxit reader.. vista sucks .. check the other video of this guy saying the opposite .. it is more honest anyway

Actually I think that Windows is the worst shit out there, it crashes always, especially when you need it NOT to crash;and you have to take care of it. With Mac you don't have to. Macs work better than PCs, they are stable and fast. You pay the quality of a good computer: hardware and software. I regret to tell you that everyone copied Apple in everything. If you know how to upgrade a Mac, you can do it, like PCs. The deal is if you know how to use your hands. Trust me.

all thes things are bullshit man. it's not true that is faster, it's not true that is safer, and it si not true that 99.9% programs run on vista, think about nero 8, if u try to install it on vista, you'll have a BSOD. and one more thing: XP use 50% less graphic resources, so games run better and faster on Xp than vista. also vista cannot support a gaming SLI pc with nvidia cards cause there anre no drivers...sorry man, vista SUCKS

Vista is an improvement; I'll give it that. But your last reason (#1) makes me think you should instead call this list "reasons to go with windows vista" instead of why we love it. Essentially, you are saying how vista is an improvement in the 9 reasons, but you say the biggest reason we love vista is because we have to use it now? On the contrary: the fact that xp is no longer widely available has made many people angry. (not me)

All of those reasons mentioned in this pointless video are just bunch of cr*p. If you or anyone else want something new, try GNU Linux, Ubuntu for example. Eye candy? Vista is like a little baby compare to Ubuntu. Safe? Hard to get viruses or spyware? Try no viruses or spyware - again, any GNU Linux. Only reason that has some point are games. Oh, yes... btw, Ubuntu is FREE!!! And.. how much do you pay for windows? Illegal or not, still cannot compare to free.

actually no, it uses your graphic hardware to display the desktop instead of waisting your CPUs power on it. But, if you have a crappy graphics card, then you'll take a performance hit.

Personally I never experienced a single crash, blue screen, freeze or any other problems with Vista, and I was an early 2007 adopter, maybe that's because I'm a techie or maybe I just got lucky, but it seems that now a days people tend to blame everything on either Vista or a virus and I can't stand it, it's just another way for people to blame someone or something else for problems they're having.
I'm at the point where I don't believe Vista ever had any problems that couldn't be easily fixed.

Vista is not CURRENTLY a bad OS but when it first came out it was FUCKING terrible!
If you were one of the first ones to get a new computer with vista preinstalled like I was then you would know how bad it was.
It would crash every 10 minutes and hang for minutes at a time while doing simple things.
This was a pretty powerful laptop at the time costing me almost $2000.
I would choose linux over windows any day but that certainly doesn't mean everyone is capable of using it.

Yeah, I got my laptop a little over a year ago so it obviously came with Vista, and I haven't had any problems. I had a friend who got a Dell when Vista first came out and he had trouble though.

I'm not calling your tech support if you don't even understand what SP3 is.
And, as far as IE6 goes, yeah it will load much faster as it was written for much slower computers and doesn't support many newer standards and features but I wouldn't say it "works" faster. Many major websites (e.g. YouTube) are dropping support for it because it's too expensive adding all the work arounds to make the website work in IE6.

SP3 stands for Service Pack 3 and i ment why did it come out while vista was allready released.. shoudent microsoft be releasing Service Packs for vista instead of XP?... because people knew that vista was crap so microsoft decided to release another service pack to see if xp crashes as much as vista and one of the things (more than 10 reasons) i hate vista is the annoying browser glitch "address is not valid" when i try to enter my router, IE7 and IE8 are the worst browsers in the WORDL!

...and when people call in with internet problems thinking it's the modem or the router, the internet works on another computer that does not have vista, and wirelessly xp CAN connect and vista does not and it's a linksys wireless N, people figure that vista should be more compatible with wireless N but it's not, and i can't download another browser because IE8 does not let me download anything... face it dude Vista is the worst thing that ever came out of microsft's butt hole
