I would have to say, this video is the number one video on youtube i think, i could never jump like that. thats awesome how you fly so close to the mountains like that. great video

You are one crazy mother, banking past the tree at 2:40 was amazing, as was the drop into the canyon at about 2:55. Great musician and possibly 50% flying squirrel.
please make more music... you are awesome. i like to listen to your music because it goes direct in your heart its not complicated and just makes me happy. Please don't stop.
You need to be 18+ to do that? And how much does this costume cost? What I need to sky jump so professional like you? Aren't you scared while doing it? Have you ever crashed something?
Please reply, awesome video added to favourites + liked! It looks epic!
@Heoyiee i think in most countries you can start skydiving at 16. the "costume" is about 1500$, however, you also need a parachute and other stuff to get you started, especially for skydiving first. i'm not a professional, i have about 1000 skydive jumps and 300 basejumps, so it's basically just training, training, training. i'm not scared, otherwise i wouldn't do it - i keep a healthy respect for it though. that's also why i have never crashed anything and i'm not planning to :-)
I hope that you won't crash that would look very dangerous and you're right that you're looking at it with a respect! Thanks so much for reply and for tips! I already subscribed! Make more videos of those EPIC LOOKING JUMPS! For sure I'll try it in the future, because now I'm only 17 and I've got no money for those stuff :)
@YodaMeis He just stopped doing youtube jams - even though he was very popular - he's surely not an ordinary artist (meant in a good way though). He continues to blog on his website though: (ronaldjenkees com).
@ma2white i see. PS- love the jenkees. as i am a student of aviation myself, i have to wonder about things such as bank, pitch, yaw. does training for this sport include training in aerodynamics, such as lift, drag, induced drag, parasitic drag, glide ratios, etc? don't mean to ask you a million questions, but honestly, how often do you get to talk to a wing suit pilot?
@uesrname187 well, i think in most countries the theoretical exams for skydiving include some basic aerodynamics. however, most people won't bother with it afterwards - it's not really necessary to be an expert at it either. however, i think for wingsuit flying it can be quite useful if you at least understand the concepts of lift, drag, etc .. or especially a polar curve. this way you can connect theory and practice and i'm sure it will help you become a better pilot.
@ma2white and what about wake turbulence, as far as flying along side someone else? do you factor winds into your jumps? does humidity play a role? density altitude? i find it hard to imagine you dont take mountain or valley winds into account. but honestly what do i know about the sport. damn near nothing. again, im sorry for having a million questions, but this is something i cant help but be very curious about.
@uesrname187 wake turbulences behind a wingsuit can actually be quite strong, depending on flight style and AoA. i think they could definitely ruin your day when doing proximity flying such as this. wind is a factor to consider as well, e.g. i would never approach the lee side of an object without enough margin to pass a rotor safely when there are heavy winds. also it is not very reasonable to proximity fly the south face of a mountain on a thermally very active day ...
@uesrname187 of course humidity and density altitude play a role too as they alter your polar curve, however, i have never made any calculations :-) still you will notice when you jump from 3500MASL compared to 1000MASL that it takes longer to start flying. valley winds and such have to be taken into account probably mostly for landing the parachute: while a headwind of 30knots will not bother me too much while wingsuit flying it will sure make my landing a bit more interesting :-)
Hey Ma2white, I live in the US and it is truly my dream to experience this someday. How do I get started in doing this kind of basejumping? Do I have to be very wealthy as well? Would love some insight. Btw this is my favorite wingsuit video of all time, you go soooo close to the side of the mountain and have some beautiful shots. Hope you read and reply to this, in any case, kudos my friend!
@xcmedinA thanks:-) to get started you need 2-3 years of skydiving till you got a reasonable number of skydives (personally i recommend no less than 500). check out a local skydive school! during this time you can already enjoy wingsuit flying. then maybe 2-3 years of basejumping and voilà, there you are for this kind of flying! seems a long way, but believe me, it's a good and fun one! skydiving does cost a little but not a fortune, basejumping itself is cheap, cliffs are free :-)
@soulure you need 2-3 years of skydiving till you got a reasonable number of skydives (personally i recommend no less than 500). check out a local skydive school! during this time you can already enjoy wingsuit flying. then maybe 2-3 years of basejumping and voilà, there you are for this kind of flying! seems a long way, but believe me, it's a good and fun one all along from the beginning! no need to rush! basejumping itself is cheap, cliffs are free :-)

I've always wanted to do hang gliding because it seems like the closest thing to flying we have, but this looks pretty awesome too. Getting that close to the trees and ground must be a great adrenaline rush too.
@speckman23 hang gliding is different, however, not any less beautiful :-) in my case, it's not adrenaline when flying close terrain ... if it was, i think i would have to be worried because i'd be pushing it too much. endorphins, however, are discharged in masses when i fly wingsuit in the mountains :-D
@ma2white I'm not a 100% sure about this, but I read that "runner's high" and other things that is popularly associated with an 'endorphin rush' is not really about the release of endorphine, but possibly anandamide which is suggested to be the cause of the feeling of happiness. Anandamide is similar to one of the chemicals in marijuana. Just a little technical knowledge in case you were interested ;)
@Muskar2 interesting point:-) so you're basically saying that i'm a drug addict ... and stoned after a jump ;-) seriously, i'm not an expert on bio-medicine, however, this sounds plausible! whatever it is, it makes me happy, that's for sure :-)
@bamboozel1234 it's very fast, so it looks close .. however, you're right, at some point it's not reasonable any more to keep pushing it further and further :-)
I have always wanted to be able to fly. I often have dreams about it. This and skydiving are probably the closest you will ever get so i have to do one of those before I die.
@ma2white Hey bro, can you send me some GPS data, with coordinates of jump sites(exits), speeds, lines..? I would really appreciate that because I was actually planning to do some proxy flights next year, maybe we can fly together, that would be awesome :)
This is my dream man, I started skydiving because of proxy flying and BASE :)
You can contact me on mail, nemanja-nemke@hotmail.com.
Wish you all the best in New Year, enjoy life, breath with full lungs!
@trenton1980 horizontal speeds are 150-210kmh, vertical 20-80kmh. most jumps are 1300-1700m of altitude from exit to landing, giving about 60-90s of freefall time depending on flight style :-) highest exit was from 3700m above sea level, giving 2700m of altitude to landing, 2min15s of freefall. if you want gps data, or more specific info just drop me a PM :-)
@ddanci1973 thanks :-) on a sustained flight you get somewhere between 2.5:1 and 3:1. temporarily, when diving and then flaring it out you can go much flatter or even horizontal for a couple of seconds! we're nowhere near paraglider glide ratios yet, however, for being your own wing i think it's already quite nice ... and big fun :-)
@Flexible7 Learn to skydive, then learn to skydive in a wingsuit, then learn to BASE jump, then learn to base jump in a wingsuit and there you go, wingsuit proximity flying.
Right before the first time you jumped ever, what was on your mind? I think personally my feet would be glued to the ground. I wish I had the courage you do.
@Leotribal well, it's not like you do this from scratch :-) first you skydive with the help of professionals, get "good" at it, start basejumping at easy, safe sites and then gradually turn it up. i think it has more to do with this slow progression, with what you like and which element you feel comfortable in, than with courage :-)
This is both captivating and utterly terrifying.

This looks like so much fun! I must agree that it was genius getting Ronald Jenkees for the music. Fantastic visual for his music.

Wow, this must be such a rush... And the music is nice as well.
What's the glide ratio of these suits?
ddanci1973 2 months ago
@ddanci1973 thanks :-) on a sustained flight you get somewhere between 2.5:1 and 3:1. temporarily, when diving and then flaring it out you can go much flatter or even horizontal for a couple of seconds! we're nowhere near paraglider glide ratios yet, however, for being your own wing i think it's already quite nice ... and big fun :-)

Pretty close trees at 3:13! Good choice of music! I run to Ronalds tunes and always imagined they would be good in a vid like this.

Ronald Jenkees makes any video 40 times better. It's the Jenkees effect.

Does anyone else wanna know how in the world you practice for something like this?!
Flexible7 2 months ago
@Flexible7 Learn to skydive, then learn to skydive in a wingsuit, then learn to BASE jump, then learn to base jump in a wingsuit and there you go, wingsuit proximity flying.

Right before the first time you jumped ever, what was on your mind? I think personally my feet would be glued to the ground. I wish I had the courage you do.
Leotribal 2 months ago
@Leotribal well, it's not like you do this from scratch :-) first you skydive with the help of professionals, get "good" at it, start basejumping at easy, safe sites and then gradually turn it up. i think it has more to do with this slow progression, with what you like and which element you feel comfortable in, than with courage :-)
