I'm completely baffled as to why Erica left MMA/BJJ. She had the look, definately had the talent. True she lost to Tsuji and Megumi, but they're both legends and she held her own with the both of them.
I think it's because of the "bad fight" value. People would get mighty upset if it started to be slow and suck and the entire crowd would probably turn into misogynistic morons. It would be scary.
More like the UFC think's it's too early. They knew how hard it was just to get people to accept males in MMA(And it's still not accepted by everyone, even illegal in states like NY) So making a Females division would be even harder for them to defend. Strikeforce has been doing a great job at selling Women MMA in the US though, UFC missed out big time.
Nah, the UFC is doing just fine. I can say confidently that they're afraid of the female MMA scene bombing with their audience. Although, sometimes I wonder if the majority of those men wouldn't mind scantily clad women duking it out.
As a PS, female MMA is no where near male MMA yet, I would expect them to develop a little more depth before it happens; pretty sure UFC is talking to female fighters though.
I heard Erica was a BJJ world Champion in her weight class at age 16.

@3939allen You'd have to ask Dana White, it's his decision to not have a women's division.
