What did you expect. There's no off road package for the HHR. The thing has no clearance and is one of the least expensive cars being sold. Not to mention it's the current answer for the station wagon of 70's (except a lot more fragile). I own a HHR and I hate driving the thing over speed bumps because of how light in the ass the thing is (don't get me wrong, nice car, but you can't beat up on it).

The fact that is has a sealed transmission should speak volumes about how to treat it.
