ok clearly no one even knows what triggers are, triggers are sensors that attach to the bass drum head, or in the case of axis pedals, right to the pedal, all trigger do is produce and artificial sound thats either hard or impossible to achieve with a natural bass drum sound, now yes some artists cheat and use them in a way where they barely have to even touch the beater to the drum head, i don't know what the fuck this guy is using

@CJMdrummer666 Roland KD-7, It takes the beater and turns it sideways so your not hitting the drum, but rather a pad underneath the the pedal. I was wondering the same thing and actually exchanged a few emails with dave, and he told me that he just loves the way they feel...I'm positive he doesn't use them for cheating though.

@CJMdrummer666 Haha didn't mean to sound accusing. But you're right just because a guy wants his bass drums to sound clean and focused doesn't mean hes a pussy for not using his bass drums. The band probably thanked him for using them too lol. I personally don't use triggers because I like the sound of my bass drum, just my personal preference. Some people would shit if they found out how many drummers "don't use their bass drums"

I'm guessing he inverts the beaters so they are as close to the bass drum head as possible. He says he does a lot of blast beats and plays fast so I'm guessing that's the reason.
