I don't know why, but out if all the games, Silent Hill 2 seems the most personal, and as I played I felt the same kind of desperation that James felt. All the other games seem to mostly focus on the Order, while the second one was all about James and his mind. Thats just my thoughts. Also I loved this remix so much, it is beautiful.
Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album 'Unhinged' which is inspired by great games such as the Silent Hill series. You can stream or download the full album for free on my youtube channel!
To be perfectly honest, this version is actually much more poignant and masterful than the original. Looked all over the net for this after years of having lost it. Even thought it was on the original soundtrack. Hehe Glad OC Remix has uploaded its stuff on yt.
the only way the message in the bar makes sense, is if it's referring to the "holes" in the roads that create dead-ends. the town can change, there used to be a hole there.
it couldnt be talking about the holes that appear in SH4 The Room, because SH2 was released in 2001 and SH4 was released in 2004, they didn't make that part of the story for another 3 years lol
In all honesty, I highly doubt it. Silent Hill 4: The Room wasn't even intended to be a Silent Hill game, it was supposed to be a completely different game, but they added in a few SH references at the last minute and tacked on the Silent Hill portion to boost sales of the title.
@SuperhumanChichi Yeah, much more likely that they took that note and character names--Walter Sullivan, plus the murders described in the article, and the Sunderland landlord--when they were altering The Room to be in the franchise. I actually think this "hole" memo was a reference to the first game. Wasn't it in that bar and through that very window the first "pterodactyl" crashed through after Harry found the radio?
@portal1337 Yeah its in Silent Hill 2. I think its right after you go inside the RV in the early parts of the game and you inspect the map and it marks a circle around a liquor bar area. You go inside there and there will be a window that has "There was a hole here. Its gone now." or something along those lines.
@juniorxx2 That's absolutely correct. I just double-checked it. I was told it has to do with the fourth game and that creepy hole in your bathroom. :P

I think this is really one of the most beautiful soundtracks made by akira..in my opinion his soundtracks help create alot of emotion in you..and also this reminds me of the bravery of james in the game..james lives on. No one can replace the songs made by akira.
@XVsiLEnT i believe its just another variation of the song true. if i recall correctly, they added a few more notes to the song "true" and this is what they got; "there was a hole here".

It's a mix of SH2's True and The Exorcist theme. They blend seamlessly together. Creepy.
mewletter 11 months ago
@mewletter I actually believe it is not the Exorcist but the fast piano part from True remixed a little bit. I dunno for sure though.
NemesisProducts 10 months ago 4
@NemesisProducts nowhere near the Exorcist theme. but all the above good songs!

@GR4V17Y They very well could be. Don't underestimate the script writers.
For example, the crimes and suicide of Walter Sullivan, the antagonist of SH4, are described in detail in memos in SH2.
