Well I think by saying "like jack" she's referring to wanting a friend with a personality like his, and by saying "a gay friend" she might mean that she wants a friend with that personality who's gay, so that there's no romantic baggage. I think a lot of women like having gay male friends because they are a change of pace from female friends, but also because it's a way to have a male friend without a possibility of romance.
The idea that two heterosexuals of the opposite sex can't be platonic friends is a bit silly to me. If one approaches a relationship the right way, I think the right things can happen. =D
Well you're totally right of course but some women can be so quixotic they think that SOMETHING has gotta happen. Plus, romance aside, there's just some limits to having a heterosexual friend of the opposite sex. You can't talk about everything, because it's bound to get awkward - if you go in2 detail about sex or your body or whatever, despite how you two feel about each other, he'll be reminded of how what you're talking about is related to him sexually by any woman, and then it gets awkward.

Even though that might be true, it's strange (and sad at the same time) that most sitcoms end the same way: main characters splitting up.
Will and Grace were more than friends, yet ofc. they had to split up in a rather unfriendly manner and not see each other for a long period of time. Was that necessary!? The producers could have ended it in a less "cruel" way for the audience. xP

Karen lost all of her money, so jack took care of her after ineriting the money he got from the southern dwarf that always picks on Karen. And Will's son and Grace's daughter went to the same college was right across from each other & their kids ended up getting married to each other; and all four still remained friends even though Will & Grace did have a falling out from before.
I missed everything that happened and only saw the last episode, I was so sad :( I did not like Leo... and I did not like the fact that will and grace had a big fight and did not talk to eachother for well... 16 years or so.. But I did not know that they became friends again :)
Will and Grace NEVER got married. Leo remarried Grace. Will married Vince. Jack and Karen NEVER got married. Karen lost all of her money in the finale. Jack and Karen werent just friends because Karen had money. They all took care of each other. They wound up living together for almost 20 years. Jack inherited money from Beverly Leslie.
Of course Will didnt turn straight. that doesnt even make sense. and don't listen to MadonnasMrDrJ. Jack and Karen never married either they just wound up living together taking care of Rosario lol Grace remarried Leo and Will married Vince.

to catmanvince - great spot. Before the drink they are older and will says "we haven't changed one bit" then when they put the glasses down, it flashes back to their youth. you can notice wills hair go from grey to dark as well

Well, the day she decided to name her baby after Will's dad and decided to raise her baby with him, she finds out Leo broke off the engagement with his then fiance.
So, she gets excuted and decides to run go seek him out in Rome (where he works as a doctor).
Will gets VERY upset because, like before, Leo comes into the picture and he's pushed to the side.
Will and Vince decide to have a baby (Ben) using some eggs a woman donated for 'rent money.' And Grace raises her child (Lila) with Leo in Italy.
They don't talk for a few years, then they reunite after a little scheme Jack and Karen planned.
They're upset they had fights, upset because they both thought they were being selfish, and upset because they weren't there for eachother during their childs' lives.
While all this is happening, Karen's divorce settlement falls through because everything Stan owned was borrowed (she get's NO money whatsoever; so for the first time she's completely broke).
Coincidently, Beverly Leslie has just broken up with Benji, and wants Jack to be his new 'partner.'
While Jack finds him repulsive, Karen forces him to sleep with Bev and spoil her with money (the same way she'd done with Stan and spoiled Jack).
After a few 'romantic' nights, Beverly makes Jack the sole benificiary of his estate (unbeknownest to Karen).
When she sees how miserable Jack is preteding, she decides enough is enough and allows him to end it.
But before they could let Beverly know, he assumes Jack is playing hide and seek on the balcony and goes out to fetch him, only to be blown off the ledge by a strong gust of wind.
Meanwhile, after Will and Grace had caught up, they lose touch for several years again because both of their lives had grown so hectic and involved, especially since both had families.
Ben and Lila meet in college (who just so happen to have dorm rooms directly oppsite eachother, as did Will and Grace); and they hit it off.
They ditch their folks, and when both parents show up, they again after years.
Ben and Lila get married (and GRACE is paying for it).
Jack and Karen remain close friends, both of them basking in the wealth of the deceased Beverly (and out of nowehere they both sing the song that accompanies this vid.)
They're all old and weathered out (all except Karen who remains forever ageless).
And while they're having shots at the bar where everyone thought Will and Grace were married, they're all glad things haven't changed.
she ends up with leo and raises her child as will and his husband adpot and they dotn talk to each other but will and grace kids end up being friends and they are connected to each other again

to catmanvince - great spot. Before the drink they are older and will says "we haven't changed one bit" then when they put the glasses down, it flashes back to their youth. you can notice wills hair go from grey to dark as well

i just noticed a fault...if u look at the final clip. wen they down the shots - grace has her hair tied back. then wen they salm the glasses on the table - her hair is down. hehe

its becuase will says its like nothing has changed a bit.... they pic up the glasses and they are old ( look closely) when they slam them down (graces hair is down) and they are back to the young charecters jack karen grace and will we met 8 years ago.

Well, the day she decided to name her baby after Will's dad and decided to raise her baby with him, she finds out Leo broke off the engagement with his then fiance.
So, she gets excuted and decides to run go seek him out in Rome (where he works as a doctor).
Will gets VERY upset because, like before, Leo comes into the picture and he's pushed to the side.

Anyways, they both get upset and Grace flys off.
Will and Vince decide to have a baby (Ben) using some eggs a woman donated for 'rent money.' And Grace raises her child (Lila) with Leo in Italy.
They don't talk for a few years, then they reunite after a little scheme Jack and Karen planned.
They're upset they had fights, upset because they both thought they were being selfish, and upset because they weren't there for eachother during their childs' lives.

While all this is happening, Karen's divorce settlement falls through because everything Stan owned was borrowed (she get's NO money whatsoever; so for the first time she's completely broke).
Coincidently, Beverly Leslie has just broken up with Benji, and wants Jack to be his new 'partner.'
While Jack finds him repulsive, Karen forces him to sleep with Bev and spoil her with money (the same way she'd done with Stan and spoiled Jack).

After a few 'romantic' nights, Beverly makes Jack the sole benificiary of his estate (unbeknownest to Karen).
When she sees how miserable Jack is preteding, she decides enough is enough and allows him to end it.
But before they could let Beverly know, he assumes Jack is playing hide and seek on the balcony and goes out to fetch him, only to be blown off the ledge by a strong gust of wind.
And he dies!!

Meanwhile, after Will and Grace had caught up, they lose touch for several years again because both of their lives had grown so hectic and involved, especially since both had families.
Ben and Lila meet in college (who just so happen to have dorm rooms directly oppsite eachother, as did Will and Grace); and they hit it off.
They ditch their folks, and when both parents show up, they again after years.

Ben and Lila get married (and GRACE is paying for it).
Jack and Karen remain close friends, both of them basking in the wealth of the deceased Beverly (and out of nowehere they both sing the song that accompanies this vid.)
They're all old and weathered out (all except Karen who remains forever ageless).
And while they're having shots at the bar where everyone thought Will and Grace were married, they're all glad things haven't changed.
