  • what was that about scart sockets and living in bulgaria eh?

we still have those sockets on the back of most tvs here as many old input devices use them (as one connecter is simpler than 3) (actually for that reason not sure why it didnt catch on in america :P:P)

  • you cant record from tv can you?

  • The 3500 DOES NOT support .srt subtitle files as listed on the spec.

This could be classed as a breach of trade descriptions.

90% of my films have subtitles. This device is not capable of playing them.

  • Wow. He totally missed some major points on this one. It can connect to 2 other PCs via SMB as well to stream data off a shared network drive. It DOES do Divx/Xvid playback, as well as many other AVI formats (Cinepack, Invideo, etc). It also can read VOB files stored right on the drive (menus and all).

It DOES have some weak points though. It's NOT a NAS, as the drive is not shared on the network from the box, nor can you FTP or browse it's contents. It also keeps the drive spinning 24/7.

  • the only thing that would make this even better is if you could connect to internet video sights instead of having to download to your computer first then transfer to the box.

Looking on tigerdirect and they have a cheaper one for around $99 but it doesn't have all the stuff this one does. IMO it's just as good.

  • Bear in mind that it's not got a proper SATA power cable: it's not got the orange wire.

This might cause problems in the future.

  • is there .avi?

  • well who the hell would pay that much money for an enclosure? $260

  • h.264 ? NO ?

  • no divx

  • wow!!!! i mean whauw really?

  • yeah man

  • Who cares WoW is for nolifes...

  • yes, since that much money doesnt even exist

  • Why can't it show 1080p, QQ i hate 1080i, So ill have to stay with 720p. Having HDMI output would of been such a better idea but this is one of the coolest things i have ever seen and i want one. I'll be able to have so many movies on here it would be insane. LOL Blu-Ray rips here i come.

  • I want a hitachi 1TB HD as well xD

  • so basicly its a mini cumpter

  • anyone know average movie size for 720p vids, and 1080p? just wondering.

  • Erm 720p is like 2gigs-4gigs compressed and 1080p like 6gigs-10gigs compressed .

  • thanks you sir.

  • true wide screen ftw!

  • but widescreen poor imagen beter before was

  • no divx?

  • I don't think it was made to work with torrented movies.

  • lololol, then whats the point of buying it then?

  • Widescreen, FTW!

  • I was looking for a product like this, but I'd rather get the WD TV which costs half the price of this and supports 1080p via HDMI, which this doesn't.

  • i know i was just trolling around sorry i was bored

  • yeah the widescreen is cool ...

    Nice review Albert

  • can anyone tell why sometimes youtube says the video is no longer available while it is ?

  • Just refresh your browser, happens to me sometimes...

  • WIDESCREEN! cewl!

  • Its all about the connectivity, it makes the device more convinient and makes it more useful for everyone, like the USB ports, without those maybe this would be bought less.

  • OHOOO.

    jumpcut XD

  • love the computertv music

  • Very cool box! May have to get one for our living room :)

  • nice, i've used one like this - it's very useful for searching stuff on old hard drives.

  • Will a Mac see this thing on the network?

  • hell no

  • Fail, not even first. You fail sir.

    nice review btw
