Ever seen Yugioh? Daisuke's situation is kind of like Yugi's situation. Dark is like the "Yami yugi" version of Niwa(Daisuke).

Dark's job is to steal artwork that has magical properties, so they can seal the negetive powers away.

As for the situation with the twins (Risa and Risu) and the situation with Hiwatari... you'll have to wait and see! OR you can read the manga online. ~_^

The anime does touch on a few points in the manga, it just gets to the important points in a different way. as a result, the anime is kinda boring at first. the Shonen-ai reference is not in the manga; While Daisuke does show concern for Hiwatari, it is more of a friendship than love.
