I liked other teen/tween aged classics such as REMEMBER THE TITANS, RUDY, ALL THE RIGHT MOVES, VISIONQUEST, and even GRIDIRON GANG (don't judge me!), but for my $ this one is it as it has that element of realistic everyday "tragedy". No Hollywood ending, nobody gets shot, no over the top circumstances - just the plight of otherwise nameless/faceless everymen in an obscure corner of the world & a soundtrack that tugs at your heartstrings as it tells the story of just falling short of greatness.
@coolmasn none taken. Though the TV show, if you want my opinion, is too much drama lol. The movie and this part of the song, represents one of the most important in life.
You may had work the harder, the hardest, the best, with the more heart and love. Sometimes, in the end, you may come up very short of winning what you deserve :(
I've played football. When, on the last play of championship, it's 35-30 for the other team, and you come up the length of one football before a touchdown, it hurts
Friday Night Lights is one of the best sports movies ever made. I mean Its like I lost the game too and I understand the movie was different then real life but still the movie was great
I liked this movie so much more than "Remember the Titans". That movie was so cliche. I felt like this movie was made for people who actually played football. I think anyone who has played high school football can appreciate this film.
This video makes me get this feeling in my lower stomach and I get goosebumps all over. I'm really gonna miss everybody after football my senior year knowing that it's all over. I LOVE U GUYS!!!! The bonds & relationships you build with your teamates is like no other you will experience. Go out there on that field & make some memories to look back on later in life. High School Football is more than a sport. It's LIFE. I live for this game man & it lives inside of me & in my heart (teary eyed)
Wtf, this has got to be the most emotional high school football movie I've watched. When he missed the touchdown, I cried, thinking they should've won.
@eck3399 well the reall '88 team lost in the state semifinals the dallas carter. and it wasnt even close. but later Carter had to forfeit their win bc of an inelligble player. So really Permian should have won, if not have a shot at the state title.
Give everything you got every second you get to play...play every play as if its your last...play for your bothers...your coaches...play for the love of the game
i was apart of a 9-man team in minnesota that won 76-0 5 State Championships in a row Lost last year in Section Final we lost 7-0 we shouldve won that game because the refs were horrible like what happend to this team and i miss football badly i hope all of u high schoolers do great in what ever ur in Just be a good sport
all i can say is that of you have any love for the game at all, this video will give you goosebumps and make you think about those old times on that friday night field under those lights, you'll never get em back
When you're doing drills at practice, be the first to volunteer. Get your reps in. When the rest of the benchwarmers and primadondas stand around with their thumb in their butt, too good to hit the sled, or too good to hit the dummys, JUMP in there. Never let a coach wait for someone to go through a drill. Never walk from drill to drill in practice. You're their to get hardened up, not to pass the time.
Showing heart can help you go far, and getting those extra trys in at practice will help.
i'm coming into freshman year planing to put my heart into football. is there anything any of yall can tell me or share with me on what to do and your experiences
work your ass off everyday and even when your tired and cant do any more keep going, pain make you stronger so lift and go to as many camps as you can just to learn more
hey dude yea im going to be a junior next year i started my freshman year and sophomore year as saftey and my sophomore year as a running back on our varsity team. Just get as big as you can during the off season and during the regular season show your coach you can hit hard and run fast and do everything as hard as you can. Your coach will reconize these things and you will play.
well, this year was my first year and well i was a freshmen too last year. but u better be in shape and lift too dude, get a friend and lift, the kids are big out there. umm, u gotta stay low in order to have the upper hand, so u gotta stay low on tackling and running, if u can do those things, ur set. and remember, i know this sounds silly for a 5 year old and i know u hear it every where. give it ur best, coaches will know that ur workin as hard as u can and they'll give u every chance to play
all u got 2 is go out there give it your 110% and if u mess up on a drill just finish it strong don't miss any practices don't be a slaker make sure to do your part in the class room
yeah this is my third year of football ball ok and trust never give up and when u need to step up u do that dont let no one else take your spot so in other words.. if u work hard and like to work hard u wont give up.. so yeah TRUST me hard work pays off only if your willing to the challenges hard work brings you!!
well i play at troy university now, but highschool football is the purest form of football there is. the best advice i can give is to never doubt yourself or your ability to make a play, without confidence you've lost before you step on the field
Best of luck at Troy man, yall are one of my favorite college teams. Hope yall can stun the Gators like yall almost did LSU last year.
And for all the lowerclassmen- Always work hard, football will take up a LOT of times and be hard at times, but it's so worth it. Don't let a moment slip you by, do all your reps and enjoy it. I'm into my senior season and I really don't want it to end I can tell yall that...
see i feel like when i am on the football field i never want to leave cause i have my fans my family maybe even a g/f but winning state like we did IN ALLEN TEXAS my middle school coach taught really alot of them so when you are in the locker room my COACH will always say "we will win state .....We WILL win State " dont do drugs they will do nothing but end your career
Its a really good movie, but if you read the book, the real story is nothing like the movie. The team never even makes it to states that year. They lose to Carter in the semi-finals at Texas A@M Stadium.
I start my Friday night games this upcoming season and I'm already sad to think about having to leave the football stadium for that last time in a few years. I get a lump in my throat and a knot in my heart thinking about it. What can I say? I love football. I can't even desribe how great it is.
i agree with everything you are saying... and i have felt it too. My Hockey team went to the Finals, we were tied by 2, and the last 3 seconds of the first overtime, it popped right ito the goal. Its a heartbreaker.
this was my senior year, lookin back at the memiores, the games we won, the games we lost...this movie catches the feelin that everyone player feels the ups and downs...ima going to miss the crowd..going to miss the rush...going to miss those friday night lights..
i always cry when i watch this movie, i cry when bobbie gets in the car with his uncle, when winchell falls just short on the last play and also when gains drops the names into the box at the end of the year..
this is passion and a movie that i think reflects life itself, its the perfect movie.
Where Im from if you didnt play football , you weren't shit !!! I love and I miss highschool football....... Football kept me outta trouble & gangs and it made me become a better person! I aint gonna front..I cry everytime I see this ending of friday nights lights!!!

i cried when i lost my first highschool playoff game man, its tough ur not players man, ur brothers, and to see those grade 12's walk off without the win, its heartbreaking, kuz were brothers man, were a family..

dude, your dumb. It is a lifestyle that people choose and if he likes it that is his choice, personaly i love football a lot so i agree with SKh2009 so you get a life.
Honestly, Why dont all you kids stop posting shit about other sports, Yes i do play football, Yes i do play baseball, And yes i do play basketball, What i think is that half you kids that are talking about other sports dont even start on the high school level and if you do congrats.
baseball is the dumbest thing u dont need any athletism to play and ur all prett much pussys and would get fucked up by any football player so go suck dicks
how is football not a real sport? you are a fucking moron, I would like to tell you, each sport has its own individuality. Dont take the talent each player has worked so hard to develope away from him or her. You make me sick.
i dont play football. I play volleyball... and I know how bad it sucks to lose, after youve come so far and worked so hard. Jocks dont think your the only ones who are competitive at your sport, we all have a sport that we share one common goal to win, no matter it be badminton, volleyball, tennis, football, or bbasketball. I believe us athletes should unite rather than squabble about what sport is better, because that was what we all share, the common goal to win.
It's brotherhood, man...I bawled when we got back to the locker room...all of us seniors did...we talked to the underclass men and told them to embrace it..how fast it goes..it seems like only last year we were on the freshman team...but it goes quick and when it's gone, it's gone....i think the most sad part of this video is the ending...they all just kind of go there own way...it's like after a funeral you know...
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
the feelings you get about football are all points of view, please keep them to yourself because many other people like a better sport and besides many of your "stories" aren't true, for instance my favorite sport is wrestling.
I don't play football but the ending of this movie always gets me. I think everyone knows how it feels to come so close to something you want and not have it turn out the way you planned. Be it football, life, etc.
My AYF team the Stafford Titans made it to nationals in Kissimmee Florida last year, we lost our first game and it was sad as hell. but we played our best, and we won our second game down there. we placed 5th in the nation
i love this movie so much! it does bring back memories of past games. im a freshman in highschool and got the biggest game of our season comeing up. both teams are undefeated i cant wait to play!!!
wow. this brings back memories of me playing ball last year. n the emotion we all felt our last game. football changes u its tru. best sport there is..
Yeah I mean, everyone is on ST. I used to play TE but my coach thought I was too big and put at OT and DE. DOn't you just when you can't what position you want?
i kno i live in australia but i played aussie rules football for Victoria the state that i live in and it was exactly the same for us! we came up agaisnt northern territory in the grand final and they wer big and mean and we got so close
no one knows how hard it is until you really play. i just started my first year and it is something that you challenge yourself to do there are no superman players you have to work as a team to make it no one person can do it you need 11 brothers working together as one to make it work
you gotta cry. if youve played high school ball, theres such a big pain in you when losing a big game. when you set youre whole mind to it, and played like theres no tomorrow, it hurts.
no one knows how hard it is until you really play. i just started my first year and it is something that you challenge yourself to do there are no superman players you have to work as a team to make it no one person can do it you need 11 brothers working together as one to make it work
I'll never forget seeing this years seniors after we lost to Hoover in the quarterfinals... Walking off the field in the 24 degree weather with just pure pain and abandonment on their faces, knowing they'll never step foot on it as a player again. Seeing a senior who was supposed to start embrace the sophmore who started over him, was just amazing. I dont want to talk about the lockeroom after the game...I loved those guys and they were like brothers. Im blessed to have one more year of this
Its a pain loosing a game, even more so when its your last, but especially when you worked long and hard, went through the hardest conditions, physically and mentally, and getting to the end, only to lose. We loss our Championships last Friday, we played hard, but it wasn't enough
I know, you pour hours and hours into it, lifting, running, practice. I'll never forget our hellish 5:30am workouts over the summer. Its tough to see all that hard work end on a loss. But im proud of us for getting that far and coming so close, we just struggled on offense while their defense played near perfect. The last couple of minutes were just hell, when you're faced with reality and lose all hope... Congrats on making it to State
I love this movie!! It is the epitomy of high school football and everything good in life! I cry everytime I watch it and just want to say it is by far the best football movie ever!
im a sophmore in high school i played varsity football as a freshman i started im a running back and im now a sophmore and i havent stopped working hard since because recently my good friend found out that he cant play highschool football anymore and he was good D1 PROSPECT good he was my idol and my close friend and every time i put on the helmet i do it for him and that knowing i have a chance to play pro ball but it starts when your in high school im real good. cya in the nfl
This is one of the best football movies ever made. It's right up there with ' Any Given Sunday '. I love the ending, when he toss's the football to the young kids, knowing he's not coming back. Passing the ' torch '. Just awesome.
i don't cry in movies, especially sports movies, but this was a tear jerker. I had no idea what to expect in the end and since i play high school football i know how it feels to lose a huge game.
Im not even American yet this movie is still so inspirational. It just has such a great and realistic feel to it that im sure all you high school footballers understand perfectly. Boobie Miles frustating situation particulary hit home with me. But my favourite scene has to be the one at the end where Mike throws the ball to the kids accepting that he will most likely never play again.
i gots a full ride to georgia or miami i dont know witch one to choose i went do permian my freshman year an the one thing it showed me that i can be something really do something wit my life so if you a young kid never stop trying follow your dreams until theres nothing left to trail i did i got a chance to play for the big time so never stop
Ha man whats with ppl from michigan being here, im from there too. In my town its like this for hockey and football. Our highschool hockey team has won states many times and so has our football team and everyone in our town has some type of connection to each team and thats why it gives off such emotion when i see this video.
I get sad every time I drive past our practice field... we were three yards away from my schools first playoff game in its 78 year history last fall...I was a senior

how is football not a real sport? you are a fucking moron, I would like to tell you, each sport has its own individuality. Dont take the talent each player has worked so hard to develope away from him or her. You make me sick.
PS: Baseball is pretty fucking boring.

i dont play football.
WeedTuber420 3 years ago
It's brotherhood, man...I bawled when we got back to the locker room...all of us seniors did...we talked to the underclass men and told them to embrace it..how fast it goes..it seems like only last year we were on the freshman team...but it goes quick and when it's gone, it's gone....i think the most sad part of this video is the ending...they all just kind of go there own way...it's like after a funeral you know...

the feelings you get about football are all points of view, please keep them to yourself because many other people like a better sport and besides many of your "stories" aren't true, for instance my favorite sport is wrestling.

I don't play football but the ending of this movie always gets me. I think everyone knows how it feels to come so close to something you want and not have it turn out the way you planned. Be it football, life, etc.

My AYF team the Stafford Titans made it to nationals in Kissimmee Florida last year, we lost our first game and it was sad as hell. but we played our best, and we won our second game down there. we placed 5th in the nation

hardhitter74 3 years ago
well I played TE but I alternated with that n a slot receiver. alot of special teams too but thats normal in high school.
nawbeee 3 years ago
Yeah I mean, everyone is on ST. I used to play TE but my coach thought I was too big and put at OT and DE. DOn't you just when you can't what position you want?
hardhitter74 3 years ago
I cry everytime I watch the end of this movie. And yes I play football.
bronx244 3 years ago
this was their last game, it ended their career, if your a football player and this doesnt make you tear, you shouldnt be playing.

no one knows how hard it is until you really play. i just started my first year and it is something that you challenge yourself to do there are no superman players you have to work as a team to make it no one person can do it you need 11 brothers working together as one to make it work

you gotta cry. if youve played high school ball, theres such a big pain in you when losing a big game. when you set youre whole mind to it, and played like theres no tomorrow, it hurts.

Im blessed to have one more year of this
lawlzhealplz 3 years ago 3
Its a pain loosing a game, even more so when its your last, but especially when you worked long and hard, went through the hardest conditions, physically and mentally, and getting to the end, only to lose. We loss our Championships last Friday, we played hard, but it wasn't enough
GuerillaRebel 3 years ago 7
I know, you pour hours and hours into it, lifting, running, practice. I'll never forget our hellish 5:30am workouts over the summer. Its tough to see all that hard work end on a loss. But im proud of us for getting that far and coming so close, we just struggled on offense while their defense played near perfect. The last couple of minutes were just hell, when you're faced with reality and lose all hope... Congrats on making it to State

I love this movie!! It is the epitomy of high school football and everything good in life! I cry everytime I watch it and just want to say it is by far the best football movie ever!

football is a great sport and u have to have honor when u play it if u dont get off the field and play something else
u have to have guts, be a hardworker, be able to show leadership and u have to be mentally and physically tough
its not a game for just anyone, its a game for someone

This is one of the best football movies ever made. It's right up there with ' Any Given Sunday '. I love the ending, when he toss's the football to the young kids, knowing he's not coming back. Passing the ' torch '. Just awesome.

Our highschool hockey team has won states many times and so has our football team and everyone in our town has some type of connection to each team and thats why it gives off such emotion when i see this video.
thank you
