This goes without saying, but I'm really wondering who they're going to put in for the deputy positions, especially in the Intelligience communities.

Podesta, in particular, is an unknown quantity, from what I've read, in regards to working with the intelligience community.

We know what we're getting in Gates, Clinton, Daschle, Rice. We have a good idea of what we're getting from Kirk, Duncan, Salazar, and others.

What is Podesta?

Leon Panetta is awesome. He may not have specific background in the intelligence community, but right now the CIA culture and efficacy needs to be restored. To do that takes a effective leader more than it takes someone trained in the technical aspects of the field.

I love how politicians use word like, "urgent" and "demand immediate action" and "without delay". They're just trying to push bills through fast by instilling a sense of fear so people don't question the bill. Look at the P.A.T.R.O.T. Act. The C.I.A. also managed to arm the Taliban and give Iran and other Arab nations reason to not trust us. So pretty much all he's saying is, "I'm going to do the same thing every other president has done." I'm so glad I got out of the military when I did.
