  • SHAMe on you people. If you do not like this video then don't watch it. If you destroy other people new faith you are no better than hitler killing the Jews if you have no respect for people have respect for God shameless people without God there will be no people or science smarts.

  • @321legionz Wrong, atheist would leave christians and any believer alone if they would also stay out our bussiness and not try to force feed us their bullshit. But that is how religion is constructed, isn't it?

By force - it forces its way into your mind. At childhood at first, when you are most vulnerable, like a disease, insidiously creeping and clouding judgement.

Unaffected adults are harder to get - msot become non-believers as they become aware of the stupidity of religion.

  • Disabled ratings, how odd. Trying to silence the truth, like religion did and will always for its entire existence. You are merely conducting yourself as all religions have, as they are enemies of free speech and free thought, attempting to stop it and impose its own will onto people. An example, is the spanish inquisition, taking people and torturing them for defying the church and whatnot. Not to mention Galileo and Bruno G who was excecuted in 1600 for 'heresy'.

  • Religion may not be the root of ALL evil but it is certainly a contender for the root of most evil!

  • you know, there is a reason that you didn't put the like/dislike option...

  • Ratings have been disabled for this video...

  • No. A belief in god is.

  • Very few atheists claim religion is the root of all evil. Most would contend that the harm religion causes outweighs the good it does. As well, anything good done for a religious motive can just as easily be done for a humanist or secular motive.

Regardless of whether religion is a net good or ill, it is still not true. There is no evidence for any of them. They are all just myths.

  • stupidest title ever

  • I watched the whole video. It is well-made, but is bullshit. Sorry! Until you Christians can produce CONVINCING EVIDENCE of your claims about ANY of these sorts of things, talking about Christianity, sin, and so on is just creative throat-noises passed down by fellow primates. (Unfortunately, those throat-noises add nothing to humanity that could not be gotten from better sources, and lead people to do horrible things.)

  • Could you just admit that Hitler was not an atheist?

  • Religion is the root of all evils. Faith is a virus that dumbs down humanity.

  • Vaccines bad? Uhhh. Seen anybody with small pox recently? How about polio? Rubella? Measles?? Naw! But a few hundredths of a percent of those vaccinated have adverse reactions, so we should eliminate the whole vaccination process!! Why---a couple people DIE every year from being vaccinated!! They would have been perfectly healthy otherwise. How dare you allow those couple of people to be adversely affected just so that billions of other people benefit!!!

  • Science itself is dogmatic by solely relying on the limited five human senses in its observations alone. It not only can't answer truths in human morality, justice, emotions & ones self awareness as an individual with free-will; it discounts all of these carte blanc as mere biochemical illusions via this limited view. If bacteria had it's own logic & reason then used the scientific method how would they perceive the same world we live in with their senses, would we be mindless to them? Cont>

  • Cont>: Science is just as presumptuous a human proposition to a truth seeking method and just as dogmatic and limited as a false religion. Science is only a sub-set of human philosophy but it's proposition as the sole truth mechanism discounts the very notion of truth in humanity and philosophy as no more than biochemical illusory. In this regard philosophy has birthed a god called science which has proved it's own mother a myth!

  • You are blaming a tool for the actions of its owner... That's just dumb.

  • Science provides endless possibilities to mankind that can go either way and is based on the practice of the idea that through observation, testing and logic one can prove and control the world around you. Eugenics is not science, it is using science to aid a social idea. Stupid people using science to do stupid things. Religion is not the route of all evil, however, it is a pathway towards alleviation of responsibility and justification and is based on something that is void of logic.

  • If you call science the root of evil, what you are saying is this: "Trying to figure out how the world really works is the root of all evil". Religion, on the other hand, says that it is okay to believe things even if there is no good reason, just because old people, or tradition, dictate it.

  • science isnt morality its just outcomes of how why when and so on(its not predictions). morality falls more into philosophical views. its also what says should we? science is facts not feelings, its cold. now when it comes to biblical morality i dont agree on many levels with it. i also dont believe the claims as well as the claims of the existence of sin or soul. if it can be proven with evidence i would believe. ANY religion that can uphold the claims with evidence i would believe. no faith.

  • Christians ask yourself this, would Jesus hate the gays, atheists, and so on? would jesus spend his day at church for a good deed or go out and feed the homeless rather then drive by them? so much anger towards you guys because of the hate and hypocrisy you have spread. if you guys tried to be more CHRIST LIKE i think you'd have different views of you and not the hate. im sure most atheists could care less at that point. btw i am one, and i know your book. cant say i like it but point stands.

  • first off im glad you said science isnt evil. i hate it when thats said. religion the root of evil? i dont think so either i just see many problems come from it. even atheists can do terrible things so its a fact religion isnt the source. the real issue from the atheist view on religion is just the attacks on people for sexuality ect, getting into government, and over all forcing believes. people are angry at you for those reasons. for attacking others.

  • there is no god... sorry to break it to you.

  • @3461167 You are an inexperienced self righteous, ignorant fool. Sorry to break it to you.

  • (cont) by those that seek to gain something from it. Power, money, prestige etc. It is true that (mostly) religious people on an individual level are generally good. not because of religion tho but because of deep underlying cues to do good in benefit of themselves and others. This simply helps all mankind. where does sin come from if not religion?

  • k good you dont censor posts. First off good video good debate. However All the things you listed about science all the "bad" things you fail to mention the underlying and base fact that science had nothing to do with it. science is truth not good not evil it simply is. 2+2=4 is and always will. there is nothing good nor evil about that. It is the humans that use science for negative purposes. Frankly more often than not in the name of religion. Religion is an ideal and can and will be twisted

  • test

  • Eugenics is a great idea. I have many traits i don't want to pass on to my children. Why do you want to be cruel to the next generation by giving them my traits? I enjoy my life.... some but i would enjoy it much more in a healthy body and a sharper mind. You could be in a better body but you fathers and mothers decided to try to keep all people in your religion or country able to breed.

  • I agree that both sides have done bad things . But science gave us something that we can use and still making useful discoveries. Religion... maybe we needed religion back then to give comfort to people and tell them that we have the answers but now we should be mature enough to accept that we don't know every thing and that is normal.

PS: Abortion? If you would force people to keep every unwanted child then we would bee in deeper sh*t then now. There is a limit how much ppl can the Earth carry.

  • Know Religion = No Peace

    No Religion = Know Peace

  • It takes religion for good men to do evil.

  • Any man who has basic knowledge will begin to question god, in other words, if we dont eduacate ourselves, we will continue believing in god. Think about it, you dont see dumbass people making videos showing stupid facts proving god is fake, in fact, i can name quite a few creationists like that. Instead you see intelligent people such as Richard Dawkins attacking gods reality. Christains should be glad people like Dawkins are alive to change this world for the better.

  • hitler was a christian

  • @GodIsReal101 he did not kill Christians for being christians made public prayers, attended church and even made a speech about how jesus was his inspiration

  • @GodIsReal101 Hitler had a mustache too. All people with mustaches are evil!

  • @GodIsReal101 Go and watch the video "HITLER: THE ATHEIST (Quiz Show)". Totally proves Hitler was an atheist!

  • @GodIsReal101

Have you ever Read "Mein Kampf"?

Hitler really believed that he was doing what god waned him to do. He was raised as a roman catholic and he still was when he died.

  • @GodIsReal101 "I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator." --

    Adolf Hitler

He was a Christian. Regardless of what you say, the proof is that he considered himself a Christian the same way that the Muslim terrorists consider themselves Muslim. What you take away from that is up to you.

  • @GodIsReal101 It's been proven he was a Catholic, you troll. It doesn't matter what religion he did/didn't belong to, though. Hitler was just a messed up, terrible individual.

  • @GodIsReal101 How would this proof look like? Did he go on record and say "There is no god"? Then why did he have "God with us" printed on the SS uniforms?

  • @lagerbaer he was refering to other god that all members of the thule society beleived in (including him)

  • @GodIsReal101 I'd love to see your proof - Hitler was a nut, but not an atheist nut. He was a narcisist who believed in his own divine providence. Atheists do not believe in any divine providence. Now, I certainly would not call him a Christian, though he certainly indicated as such to solidify his appeal.

By the way - you've never heard of a self hating Christian? You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one of them.

  • @GodIsReal101 "I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator."

    -Adolf Hitler in Mein Kampf

Hitler killed very few Christians; the only ones he killed were killed on the basis of being threats to his power. For instance, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, a Christian theologican, was only executed by the Nazis because he was involved in a plot to assassinate Hitler.

Even more powerful is the fact that Darwinian writings were restricted in Nazi Germany.

  • @GodIsReal101 to say that hitler was an atheist is to change history to make it what you want it to be. There is overwhelming evidence to prove hitler was a Christian.

  • @sdingle100 Please provide for the group

  • @GodIsReal101 nobeliefsdotcom/speechesdothtm wwwdotevilbibledotcom/hitler_was_christiandothtm

  • @GodIsReal101"Today they say that Christianity is in danger, that the Catholic faith is threatened. My reply to them is: for the time being, Christians and not international atheists are now standing at Germany’s fore. I am not merely talking about Christianity; I confess that I will never ally myself with the parties which aim to destroy Christianity.

  • @GodIsReal101"Fourteen years they have gone arm in arm with atheism. At no time was greater damage ever done to Christianity than in those years when the Christian parties ruled side by side with those who denied the very existence of God.

  • @GodIsReal101 Germany's entire cultural life was shattered and contaminated in this period. It shall be our task to burn out these manifestations of degeneracy in literature, theater, schools, and the press—that is, in our entire culture—and to eliminate the poison which has been permeating every facet of our lives for these past fourteen years."

    -Adolf hitler

  • @GodIsReal101 - Allow me ""I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.." - Adolf Hitler. ""My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter" - The only way you are going to get out of this is to claim he wasn't a true christian, therefore committing the true scotsman fallacy. So which is it going to be? A wilful denial of history and fact or fallacy?

  • @GodIsReal101 there are photos of Hitler shaking hand with the pope, go search for the images

    then explain it shit head.

  • @GodIsReal101 Hitler was definitely a Christian. He spoke of it in speeches. The Nazi belt buckles said "God with us". The Nazis had to swear fealty to the Christian God. The Catholic Church supported Hitler's regime. His hatred of Jews is connected to the idea that Christianity is a seperation from Judaism, and that the Jews were those who "murdered Christ". He spoke of it in private and in public. You can debate the depth of his piety, you can claim he was wrong about it, but he WAS Christian.

  • @GodIsReal101 "Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord." Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf

  • @GodIsReal101 mein kampf...

  • Hitler wrote: "I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.." As a boy, Hitler attended to the Catholic church and experienced the anti-Semitic attitude of his culture. In his book, Mein Kampf, Hitler reveals himself as a fanatical believer in God and country. This text presents selected quotes from the infamous anti-Semite himself.

  • @GodIsReal101

like....errggg...on every belt of the nazi uniform it said: "Gott mit uns" - meaning "God with us" - not to mention passages in mein kampf

  • @GodIsReal101 Nice try though, there are however historical RECORDS you can't twist and turn that prove he was not only a christian but a DEVOUT one and though the lord was his guiding light.

Given the massacres in the bible he was trully acting....like god would.

    Nice try - move on.

  • @thunderpower5 you are an idiot.

  • @thunderpower5

    Stalin was an atheist.

  • I don't have anything against faith, but just against the people that run it (the church). The church has killed so many innocent people. If we look back to our history, the church has almost always been the cause of many wars. In the dark ages, they prosecuted 'witches' without fair trial. They also killed scientists that contradicted the bible. I think that if we let the church get too much influence, they will try overpower the world. But now I think they are trying to cover up their crimes.

  • the idea that science is evil is in of itself evil. science is just knowledge, its what we really know, its facts and has nothing directly to do with religion. if religion is calling it evil thats an attempt at puting us back in the dark ages, ignorance never did anyone any good

  • Why do you people disable ratings and comments.

  • There is a truth in morality & its understanding is born into humans. Science always fails to explain the need in mankind for philosophy or why philosophy dominates laws of man and the science of evolution is ignored. Animals have no moral expectations even if science claims humans as just another evolved animal. Love, hate, good, evil & crime itself has no scientific meanings. Why do we give more credence to moral understanding than of science if one claims we don't have a soul?

  • You forgot about cars. After all cars are a product of science and hundreds of people die because of cars every day.

But seriously, I sort of agree with you. People twist everything to serve their goals and would use religion as well as science to hurt others. However science may give one a tool of destruction, but rarely it is the reason that pushed someone to do evil. Even in case of eugenics the reason was usually political or sociological, science was merely a justification.

  • Real, I was thinking about your video. How about this one?

Suppose you were inflicted with a terrible, painful disease, syphilis for example. Where would you place your faith and hope of cure? Science or prayer.

  • @aristopus As a Christian I believe God uses Mankind his creation as tools for his will. So I would pray to God that the DR would have the right wisdom to give the right meds to make me better. So not either or but both. My faith in God my trust in God . My knowledge to go to the ER.

  • @GodIsReal101 Would you also thank the scientists who through their dedication and reason, created vaccines and specialised equipment to cure your ailments, or are you going to cover yourself and tell me God gave them the ability to act and think rationally.

  • @GodIsReal101 According to what you just said, god also gave us the knowledge to use and create atomic bombs and biological warfare. In this statement just said you just countered everything said in the above video.

  • @GodIsReal101 "As a Christian I believe God uses Mankind his creation as tools for his will." - What a disgusting, sadistic belief you have...

  • “The problem is when someone wants to tell other children only one option for sexual education. Then the parents rights just flew out the window. Would you agree on this?”

I certainly do. There's more than one way to explain how to avoid unwanted pregnancy. I don't care how, just do it. One thing if for sure, religion-generated war has wasted a lot of money that could have been spent on education.

  • The problem with science is that it can only give us facts. It can't help us attribute human meaning to those facts.

This is why it's proven so dangerous to apply a cold, rational approach to things like morality.

But religion is equally flawed, since it limits meaning to what was written down thousands of years ago in one or another ancient holy book.

There's more to life than science and religion.

  • no such thing as god , evolution proved that, get real!

  • Oh and technichly Girls are the root of all evil, there's a complex math equastion but I'm too lazy to type it right now

  • To sum it all (every argument about this ever) SCIENCE=discovery through trial and error, RELIGION=do what we say so we get to rule, anyone Ever hear of rodrigo Borgia, he was a pope at one stage, he wasn't religious even quoting "why would one belive in fabrications rather than rule over them"

  • So you are saying we should go back to living in caves because human advancement and science is bad? Does anyone even go to church anymore? I only know a couple people that still do...

  • I have already posted once, but the twisted mentality of this video really bothers me. These criticisms of science are not justified in the same way that criticisms of religions are justified. Besides the fact that much of it is just insinuating self-righteous moral judgment, the difference is that the atrocities of religion are also its goals. Regardless of claims of bringing love and peace, innocent people still die for the sake of religion. The same cannot be said of science.

  • To decide if something is intrinsically good or bad one needs to tweak apart those attributes that are separable and inseparable from the nature of the thing being discussed then decide where the balance of good lies. An evaluation of the good points of religions show them to be just as easily attributed to human goodness. The bad things require organized religion. Science is the opposite. The evils of science require human failings. The strength of science is it’s moral neutrality.

  • curious,in the intro what do american soldiers have to do with god?

  • Firstly, if you say that every abortion denies the world a potential Einstein, then you must accept it also denies the world a potential Hitler.

Secondly, by your logic every single sperm is a potential Einstein and therefore you deprive the world of a potential Einstein every time you use a condom, ejaculate whilst sleeping; even when you simply abstain from having sex.

  • As ratings have been disabled I thought I'd give this a thums down by comment. Thank you.

  • Aristotle defined science as an inquiry into the nature and causes of a thing.

To answer for Chernobyl, chemical weapons, and Africanized honey bees, there is no doubt science has made man more able to effect the world through both failures and successes, but the balance so far has been towards successes.

As for abortion, rampant infanticide proceeded it science has only made such practices more palatable.

  • @WorBlux

And Eugenics evil came from the desire to plan society and to control and shape according to a rulers plan. It was a plan for the moral perfection of man, to rid the world of all those not fit to integrate into the new world order. Exactly the same sort of machinations which had made religion such a deadly instrument.

  • There is no root of all "evil" bad things come from many sources....anything can be used in a negative way. Though with religion, nothing is positive.

  • Nice message ----

Don't try to fix anything or make it better cause "god" is gonna fix it for you when jesus comes back . . . . .

  • Godisreal, you are saying things that are slanted for the purpose of promoting propaganda. Take your statement on euthanasia. People arent killed in the name of science but to relieve human suffering. Same with abortion, I admit its a terrible thing but most of the time its the lesser of two evils.

To me, the Bible is the work of fishermen and goat herders who had no idea what the world was about.

  • So you say most of the time abortion is to relieve human suffering. What proof do you have of this? The numbers don't show this? As a matter of fact the increased feeling of loss and regret causes more pain for most of the women who have made the mistake of abortion. The numbers do tell us that regret is what your lesser of two evils argument brings. I am glad that you pointed out the fact that people are being killed that part was accurate.

Thanks and please think about the issue more.

  • Okay, Ill be glad to debate some of these issues. Perhaps others will join in.

"As a matter of fact the increased feeling of loss and regret causes more pain for"

Most instances of abortion are cases where babies cant be provided for. I would think a struggling ghetto mother of six (single or not) living under squalid survival conditions would have a lot more feeling of loss and regret if she had number seven.

  • To support what I say, I dont know the academic numbers, but Id bet most of the countries over two-million prisoners were unwanted when they came into the world. You must face reason because their lives are being wasted as inmates of science fiction penitentiaries—but theyre real.

  • In this same argument I could say that of the 5 million children that have been aborted there could of been a brilliant mind, or leading peace promoter, or great doctors to help with cures for this world. Besides what you are talking about there is individual choice not impact choice which is abortion. I could make the choice to steal but a potential human and for sure a living cell has no choice to live only the person the living (cell/life) is living in.

  • So becuase it may start off as a hard life then life should not begin? If that was the case then the first cell to the first life would or in your opinion should just die since it is not the greatest life they could of had. What if that person was the next great scientist or ground breaking atheist that proves God doesn't exist? Could be killing off your own kind. I am using satire to prove a point that class systems are not the greatest arguments for this topic. Sounds a bit racist.

  • With regards to abortion if you're going to mourn the loss of a potential Einstein out of all the aborted babies then you necessarily have to apply the same logic to every single sperm in your body. Every time you ejaculate whilst sleeping, when you use a condom, even when you simply abstain from having sex, then by your logic the world is denied a potential Einstein.

  • @GodIsReal101 its a choice.

  • @GodIsReal101 OK, I grant you the point. It's hard to defend abortion. It's a terrible thing. I recently read that over 40% of the babies born in the US in 2009 were born to unwed mothers. A scary statistic.

Let me ask you, pious Christian Sir. Are you in favor of sex education in high school? If science and good sense can prevent one teenager from getting pregnant, it can prevent every girl from the same. Why isn't it happening?

  • @aristopus I am not against education in school. I have no problem with parents talking to their children about sex at home either. The problem is when someone wants to tell other children only one option for sexual education. Then the parents rights just flew out the window. Would you agree on this?

  • @aristopus whos suffering is eased with abortion u tard?

  • science hasn't accomplished a single good thing that hasn't been a kick in the pants in the end

we would be immensely better off if we all still lived off what we could kill or pick that day

there wouldn't be as many of us but we would be strong and happy with no need for most things science offers us

  • @o0lBobl0o Please, make more moronic statements. Science hasn't accomplished a good thing that hasn't been a kick in the pants in the end? How did a cure for smallpox "kick us in the pants"? If you are saying that scientific knowledge has born some ill effects, you would be right, but to say that all science has done ill, that's idiotic and uneducated.

  • oh boy we found a vaccine for smallpox

The Indians had never heard of smallpox till science invaded their world

tell the millions of autistic children born from vaccines they were worth it

go tell the people at nagasaki we cured smallpox

go tell those dying of aids and drug resistant TB that we cured smallpox

How many of our children do we murder every year through abortion?

if we let our children live we wouldn't need a cure for smallpox

we would be a strong resistant people

  • @o0lBobl0o As to returning to our hunter gatherer roots...yeah , you have fun with that. I hope you're a big fan of burying children and fighting wars over food. None of it of course matters, we would only as a species eventually return to where we are now. Our primitive ancestors developed technology to get us to where we are today, if we returned to that lifestyle, we would just begin the ascent again.

  • we bury our children now and we are just a few years away from the food fight of the age

we just kill our children now and hide the crime so we don't have to see it

If they made a woman bury her child maybe we could slow down the murder

God has given us the food we eat and when He decides to take it we will starve

science can't save you from Him

  • @o0lBobl0o Why is it not surprising that you would spew this kind of idiocy, and then invoke god? Fucking religitards. I'm done arguing with you. You can't convince crazy person that they are crazy.

  • why is it not suprising that you would stoop to cursing and spewing your hate whenever your precious sciencegod gets slapped down

  • @o0lBobl0o When we get to this primal utopia you seem to think is the answer, you can tell us how much you love it as your eat corn paste, or as you pull a spear out of your belly.

  • Whats the matter with preventing millions of babies from being born. Humans are a runaway species endangering all life on the planet.

The Bible advocates and condones slavery, sexism, war, homophobia, and worst of overpopulation. Religion has led mankind to the brink of self destruction. What could be more evil?

  • science has made us a runaway species

when we pitch the mega movers and super tankers we could go back to a day when we lived happily with the world we have

but the end times were never supposed to be a picnic

  • People have said that religion is the root of all evil in the world that it is 100% wrong in every way. But think of the progress of science, what has it truly done. Given us the ability to extend our life spand, and we now have an over crowded planet. Given us clean nuclear energy, only to make a weapon of it first.

They say religion has caused more damage to the world, well look at the earth now. Burning up from the pollution of factories for war, Relgion is the salvation of humanity.

  • :Relgion is the salvation of humanity. "

Nid, religion has been around since the very beginning of civilization. Do you think humanity has been saved? We're in more of a mess now than in ancient times.

  • And it is in these times that secularism and science are taking over :D

  • Says the guy, using his free time to use his computer, to access the internet, powered by electricity, from inside his comfortably heated house, with clean water, proper food and excellent healthcare, which makes sure the life expectancy is 70, instead of 30.

yup, humanity is doing reeeealy poorly...

  • But have you not seen that you could have all of those things in this life and it still does not give you true happiness. Just look at hollywood in their even bigger homes and more electronics than me or you could ever afford yet many are unhappy and seeking something else to satisfy their soul. We could live to 150 but life without the creator would be a pointless one in the end.

  • Well, I don't know about you, but I'm an atheist, I live in western europe and I have literally nothing* to complain about. I'm very happy, life a rewarding life and I'm pretty happy with what science and has done for humanity, as I would most likely be dead without it, just like you.

As for your life being pointless without a creator, I have to say that I find that sad. Can't you find fulfilment in your life without having to get from some external source?

    *compared to say, a caveman

  • I don't believe happiness is about self I believe that is what the problem is with our society today. I believe happiness comes from God and his love is why we are here so to reject him is not love and therefore can't equal happiness. Which leads to a question for you. Where does love come from? It is not found in most animals so why love and why mostly in humans? My answer is God as stated above. What is your answer?

  • Uhm... I'll answer this question in a bit, right after you do. You see, you don't actually provide an answer, you just say "god makes people love eachother", but that doesn't answer anything, it doesn't explain anything.

How do you define 'love'? If you define 'love' as 'worshipping god' why not simply call it 'worshipping god'? What mechanism does god use to make people love? how does this work?

If you can answer that, I'll give you my explanation for love.

  • @GodIsReal101 So basically you are saying that even though I might evaluate how I feel, gather that I am happy, I'm not. That no matter how happy I am, I'm not actually happy without god? That may be the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. That is akin to saying that if you have an apple in your hand, you don't actually have an apple in your hand, unless you are wearing shorts. Retarded religious rhetoric that only looks logical to mental midgets.

  • Only in your opinion. I'm positive there is no creator, yet I'm living a fulfilling life that has a lot of purpose to it.

Your assertion isn't correct for everyone.

  • Take this up with "aristopus" below, he sayd that the world is worse now then in the past, not me :)

Besides, to live is one thing, to live an exciting life, full of fufillment is a whole different thing.

Regardles of how the human condition came to be as it is, the truth is that religion, just like art, music and selflesness are what makes human...IT'S EVEN IN OUR GENES, go see what I mean, mister science man ;)

  • @TheRNWC

it was aimed at him really, but.... whoops :p

And I completely agree with you, but keep in mind it's a lot easier to life a rich fulfilling life when you're not dying of pneumonia or spending 14 hours a day hunting deer to feed your family.

also, I'm not a man, but meh :p

  • Hehe sorry, I never readusernames, Amanda :(

IDK about the US, but here, we have so many monestaryes...as with catholic priests, there si a minority of them that are real freaks...but most live harsh, yet fufilling lives...all in the name of God and charity

  • No,Science is not the root. Pride is the root of all evil.

"For the love of money is the root of evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1 Timothy 6:10

  • Indeed, arrogance and greed too :)

  • when people use bits of science to either accidentally or purposely cause harm, they are doing just that, using bits of science, without the understanding of it's possibly far-reaching implications with every other bit of science and otherwise unknown data. science itself is not the culprit, but the limited ability of human understanding to see where they will make mistakes. sometimes people stumble upon rope that's long enough to hang themselves with if they don't take note of the surroundings.

  • morality is determined by evolution. it's not relatively only absolute depending on the sentient beings it has created. in other words, there are absolute moralities for us humans, but only because we are humans. some or all may not apply if we had evolved differently. sociology is a scientific field studying society and culture, so science does have some say in morals. as far as the failures of science, the side effect to having knowledge is people who misuse it. not the knowledge itself.

  • morality doesn't come from evolution

  • yes it does, in the commonly defined sense of morals. not the mystical, arbitrary and unnecessary sense of morals

yes, evolution determined our moral to be kind to one another. it didn't determine our moral to think enjoying sex is evil. man made that up. also if we had evolved differently, being kind to one another might not develop. i'd say, fortunately we evolved this way (generally), but that's from my perspective as a human.

  • Your logic is flawed. Evolution has nothing to do with morality. It is merely a scientific theory. In fact science in general has nothing to do with morality or any abstract (non physical) concept like love, beauty, etc. In a Godless world, concrete ethics/morals don't exists. Every notion of right and wrong would be opinion and nothing else. One of the many reasons atheism is a hollow philosophy.

  • "merely" a scientific theory? it happens to be a connecting backbone to dozens of specific sciences. how does science have nothing to do with morality, love, beauty? and you're going to hit me with the simplistic, tired, false-dichotomy of a godless world equals lack of morals, and have the nerve to say my logic is flawed? Hahahahahaha. extreme relativism aka anarchy isn't necessarily the result of lack of theology. just look at crime rates per capita in places less religious.

  • if you think about it you can say science and religion can be the root of all evil. diffrant religions are basicly other points of veiw of what god is, people argue over this and can and has caused war.

Science has been used to create new weapons wich as youall know kill people.

combine the two and you could say yes to the question.

( by the way i don't belive in god and dont reply to this saying "so you dont use household items such as tv cooker and stuff 'cause i do)

  • Great Video! you made a few points I would like to point out here- I am a college student studying to be an engineer- but Science can be used for either good or evil- unfortunately because men are wicked and follow the deeds of the flesh rather than Spirit as Scripture points out they would rather use Science for their own greedy means! Science in ITSELF is not intrensically evil, however just because something CAN be used for evil does not make that thing evil- for example I can use this comput

  • computer for either good or evil- the computer is simply a mediator for my actions in this case.

What is the problem though remains standing is sin- that seperates man from God - and while men are still in sin they would rather follow the deeds of the flesh and thus use the tool they have been Given by God for their own fleshly greed and lust- Paul in Romans talks about this.

    anyway interesting video God Bless!!

  • Science is NOT evil :) its like a babe in a cradle in this current day, its good because men MUST seek and learn, and THAT has nothing to do with being christian or not, thats pure instinct isnt it :) should be

  • GOD doesnt DO Parlor tricks, such as make none of my food go bad, let no one I know ever be ill in this corrupted world, let no one suffer in this corrupted world, let everything be pink flowers and no pain and no learning of character through any tough times, hand feed me and change my diaper..........NO lol GOD doesnt play that way :)

  • VermilionUK, that is just beyond ignorance and you know that :)

  • Science in itself, is not evil. Science used to harm others, is. Science used to attempt to toss GOD aside (although that in itself is impossible), is evil or at the very least.........Foolish indeed. Who is the Master Of all science? who is the Master of all Vibration? Of ALL Energy? Of ALL purpose............its Not mankind :)

  • So you're assuming that because we don't "master" science, it must be God? lol

You should throw away your refridgerator and freezer, if God wants your food to stay fresh, he'll make it so. Because surely a refridgerator is doing Gods work by preserving our food, right, thus its an "attempt to toss GOD aside"?

  • Great vid!

  • Good points! Thanks for sharing.

  • The minds which bring forth scientific advancements are not necessarily (and likely are not) the minds which use science for evil. Religion is not the cause of evil either. People are the cause of evil. Religious people have caused evil; non-religious people have caused evil. Greed, I believe, is the main cause, and every person has the capacity for greed. Love, nurture, kindness, yes...but also greed. Luckily, most do not entertain their capacity for evil.

  • Most arguments against evolution are intellectually dishonest at best and outright crap at worst. Without evolution the whole school of biology falls apart.

Science is no more evil than a knife lying on counter is evil. It's how it is used...

After thousands of years of plagues, natural disasters, drought famine and what not. I would think that science mistakes and all has done a better job of improving life and saving lives than god has.

  • Science only brought about the ability for bad things to occur in all of the cases in this video. However, it was either human error or human moral faults that brought about all of the bad things directly. To equate science with "evil" in any way is a form of misinformation and I suggest you remove this video.

  • "it was either human error or human moral faults that brought about all of the bad things directly."

Even the good things like antibiotics are a two edged sword. They have helped alot of people but they are breeding super bugs that will make it even worse on the children to come. As a matter of fact if we don't stop improving our situation there won't be children to come.

  • I think linking advancements in science to deaths in wars is sort of a moot point. It is fundamentally ideology, whether it be Christian, Capitalist or Communist, that determines how these scientific discoveries are used and under what contexts.

Science is not divisive, but ideology is.

  • Science is to blame for alot more deaths than you have touched on. Science is directly responsible for all the heaps of trash littering our world. It's responsible for all the fertilizer and pesticides killing the ocean, and giving us cancer. Who's idea was it to blast the tops off the mountains in Kentucky? Science thats who.

  • also responsible for the average lifespan being what it is today, rather than in the 30s like in the middle ages

    Without science:

    -I would've died in childhood

-my dad would've died in college

-my grandmother would've died from skin cancer (from the sun), & my mom likely from an infected cut

(& that's just immediate family, not friends)

-heck, half of all children would die before their first birthday

also, science is INdirectly responsible for those things, industry driven by greed though...

  • good stuff

  • another great video!

  • Great video, great message.

    May God Bless you Always!

  • Great stuff again brother. I can't count how many times that argument has been brought up, and how many times people have made it science vs. Christianity.

  • Some things never change, I guess.

    @ video

The video was named like that because someone shared similiar title but with "religion"? You know, you are returning the ball that way, and it is childish :(

Why manipulate? Science community criticizes faith? Where did u get that from?

About morality - pure science has NOTHING to do (does not discuss, I mean) with morality.

  • Amen!!! You! covered many good points. God bless you!

  • One of the Most intolerant things is to Hate Bash one for their Creed (Faith).

  • @timm9 staying silent and not voicing your opinion about a topic that harms society is much worse.

  • Amen, brother! Not ALL science is bad, Archaeology is profitable, so is history, when they and the bible go hand in hand. But medical discoveries, gone wrong, are deadly. I agree with you on this.

1Timothy 6:20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science FALSELY so called:

  • Wow I love this video.

  • Good video, but when you say sin is the root of all evil you misquote the Bible. 1Timothy 6:10 says, the love of money is the root of all evil. Not money, but the love of money. Sin is not the root of anything, but rather it is a result. Sin is the outgrowth of man's own lust (see James 1:14-15).

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! people are so willing to agree with whatever liberal media tries to "teach" them..... IE- abortion.... My advice to the rest of the comments on this video.... go to THE BOOK!!! (us Christians get a bad rap because they say an "old" guy wrote a sketchy book..... I have not seen a science book that has not changed its information...... YET the bible has stayed the same! GOD BLESS Godisreal101! KUDOS

  • Actually, the Bible says that money is the root of all evil. Science is only evil if it's used to try to disprove the existence of God.

Science was in the Bible long before it was anywhere else.

  • Great vidoe! Thanks. ( =

  • Very good video.

  • AMEN; you mention many *TRUTHS* to "consider"

  • Mate makes it sound like an animal. Why not say "have sex"?

  • because you can have sex without mating. Mating implies the act of procreation.

  • Science is merely the study of working processes to either prove or disprove an hypothesis. Anyone can see science in action; I can hypothesize that gravity exists, I then I can test that by holding a ball above the floor. If the ball drops, I have proven that gravity exists, if not, it does not exist. Darwinism is idealism cloaked in science and pseudo scientific rhetoric.

  • i don't recall you ever giving me evidence for a 6000 year-old world... please do

  • I never said I believe that. I think the gap theory is as plausible as any.

  • surely your belief that dinosaurs lived with humans contradicts your belief in the gap hypothesis

  • "Darwinism is idealism cloaked in science and pseudo scientific rhetoric. "

    ---

Perhaps you can elaborate on how evolution (what you inanely call "darwinism") is idealism?

  • Amazing video. Thanks. :o)

  • Thank you! Great vid!

  • Awesome!
