  • I think its important to give kudos to the amazing London based band, "Wild Domestic". They too are a proud part of London, Ontario and did a great job with the background music to this video!!!!! Well done boys! Love your music :)

  • @kimmy9964 I've watched this video about 6 times mostly for the wild boys. I cannot get enough of their music....

  • Thumbs up if you are watching this because it was in today's London Free Press! :D

  • soooo.......how to attract 10000 new jobs to london. any ideas ppl?

  • I've lived in London my whole life and I enjoy living here. That being said, I fail to see how this video will attract new business to the city. Instead of listing off all of the companies that are located in London why not speak to why they are located here. This city is close to Toronto and Detroit. A billion dollars in commerce pass down the 401 everyday. We have a leading research university and a college that produces skilled workers. I don't see any of that in this video.

  • Got rid of all old flash versions and uploaded the latest and it still insists that I upgrade ... WTF!

  • My great-aunt was a self-effacing single woman, the child of a housemaid in northeastern England. Auntie was born in 1890, arrived in London in 1905, and worked at McCormick's her whole life until she retired in the 50s. In its day, McCormick's was a model of industrial hygiene.

My grandfather, a union man, worked for many years at Somerville, another of London's industries. Check your old jigsaw puzzles; he may have done the colour. ;)

  • My grandparents all immigrated to London from England in the early 1900s, and I grew up there in the 50s and 60s ... yes, the whitest place in the world, at the time. When my brother was three he saw a "chocolate man" on the bus for the first time and was thrilled.

But if you were one of the "great unwashed" from East of Adelaide, like us, you were about the equivalent of a visible minority, in the London of rich Conservatives and insurance company bagmen. I left when I was 16. ;)

    cont'd

  • Raised in London but live in small town northern Ontario now but as far as cities go London will always be the best and a place I proudly call my hometown

  • Little too repetitive, shows the innovation in London as very white and doesn't it look very similar to the The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation : In Our Lifetime video?

  • tomorrow in london, city hall falls into another sink hole so they can build a new one,,,,

  • I proudly passed this video along.

    Thank you.

  • London Ontario is like the best place on earth

Mostly because Ive never LIVED anywhere else but London!

    And I love it

I may only be 13, but seriously I know most of my way around London now.

  • @JeydonLuver2 sorry bout this, but that just means you gotta travel and get out of london, like i live here, its nice, but theres places which are much more beautiful, trust me.

  • @nikllad Haha, Ive been out of London (Ex. Kitchener, Niagra Falls, Goderich, SeaForth, Kincardine, etc.) but I havent lived anywhere else... xD

  • Ew to every one on here who is going to diss London. Focus on the bad only why don't ya. London IS multicultural. Have you not been to Sunfest? Have you never stepped foot into Weable? Enjoyed a fine meal at many of the different restaurants here? Class systems are every where. People tend to hang out with other like minded people. London is awesome, it has nature and parks. We should care more about the endangered species here but no complaints other then that.

  • Surprised Goodlife didn't make the list (unless I missed it...)

  • Tomorrow IS Made in London Ontario! This video reminds us that every day London produces world-class innovations!!!

  • Words are very powerful. In this video, words are part of the stage of communication. At the end, your viewers are reminded that "it's just another day in London." How disappointing. Rather, the viewers should read (in keeping with the theme) Tomorrow is...Made ... In London. Now that's the future of city I want to be called to. #thewordwit

  • london is a class system city. If you make $100 000 plus a year you will like it here. but for the hundreds of thousands of people who keep getting less and less money it's terrible. the drug problem is getting worse and worse. most manufacturing jobs want you to have a car but don't pay you enough to have a car AND a home so you become poorer. I left my home town of london cause im sick of seeing the upper class of rich people constantly beat the lower class. FUCK LONDON.

  • @continuingevolution the quality of your arguments in this rant tell us all we need to know about how much credence to lend your opinions about London. Let's go through them, shall we? Every city is a "class system city". You are going to be pretty happy making 100k anywhere (except maybe Manhattan). Overall, drug use is declining in London. Show me any data that manufacturing jobs "want you to have a car" and having a car makes you "poorer". BTW, what egalitarian city did you move to?

  • @chance144 hit the job bank and you will see most manufacturing jobs want you to have a car. and even pay a huge 12 dollars an hour. have you been to east london...the drug problem has been getting worse and worse. i went to Toronto, were there is work. and a transit system that actually works (which is why most manufacturing companies want you to have a car. i understand why they want you to have one but...) look at the poorest areas on london. they are hidden well except for EOA.

  • @chance144 your not even canadian. have you been to london? @continuingevolution is right. london is a dieing city. we keep losing jobs, and the drug problem is getting worse. all you have to do is walk downtown to see it. but i still live here tho. i hope that the city turns around soon tho. id hate to have to move away for work.

  • @joncanada666 Im moving to London currently. They literally tell you "you have to have a car"? Wow. I was thoroughly impressed with the people I met downtown, liked the schools, loved the city, etc. Ill have to look more closely. It isn't nearly as expensive as Toronto, especially real estate. I still stand by may argument about "Class cities" and living on 100k, but it looks as if things aren't as rosy as they seem in London.

  • @joncanada666 Talk about depressing...London is a great place to live. It isn't dying, it is changing. Look at the East End..the old industrial part? It is dead there now, but once it was thriving.

look at the other areas that have grown over the century.

  • Excellent video. London is a growing vibrant community that is really beginning to break out from its conservative roots.

  • This video makes me wish I wasn't watching it in Waterloo, where I had to move to to find a job. I mean that sincerely too, I miss my hometown.

  • Great job !!

This is the first time I have ever seen London showcased in such a positive inviting way.

  • This video shows all the socialistic values of London. Good Job showing the childrens hospital and ronald macdonald house

  • Toronto is still better.

  • girl at lawson is my bff

  • AWESOME! Great work! London is an AMAZING city so spread the word!

  • Dont forget about the #1 Internationally rated Applied College - Go FANSHAWE!

  • Great video! Thank you so much to everyone at the LEDC and Adam Caplan for creating this video. Everyone at the Voices.com office is pretty excited about being featured in this video. ^AH

  • @faidwen652 thanks for catching that! we've edited :)

  • This is what London is all about. Fantastic Job!

  • This is a fabulous video to promote London but I only saw one African American Women in the video!!! REALLY? Have you looked at the population in London and the multiculturalism shaping our city? I'm sure lots of well-educated non-white people work in all those places. Next video represent people in the city doing the work!

  • @beholdingembrace london is so white

  • @beholdingembrace why do people always look at skin colour? Hopefully one day you can watch a video like this and not even think about skin tone. Lets focus on the message and not distort it.

  • @beholdingembrace There's an East Asian woman and a Middle Eastern man too. Idiot.

  • @beholdingembrace They didn't show any "African-Americans" because there are none in London; maybe a few black people but no African-Americans. Also, I once saw more brown people at Canada's Wonderland than I have seen in an entire year of living in London. The video wasn't multicultural because London isn't exactly multicultural. This town is nearly 90% white with a large Arab community. so the video is going to be representative of the fact that ethnic diversity just doesn't exist here.

  • @beholdingembrace Unless you watched a different video than I did then it appeared each company profiled used actual employees instead of actors. So if you want to see more African-Americans (which I will point out are neither African nor American) then tell them to work at the companies that were profiled. I looked through the whole video and didn't see any images of myself either, but that is because I don't work at any of the places they showed.

  • The video is cool and all but I can't help but think there may be some major copyright infringement issues relating to Van Halen's 1993 'Right Now' video...
