@astroboirap Hey, you ever get hit with a cicada in the eye at even 20 kph? Can mess you up, dude. Anyway, I had a Honda C50 that hit 95 kph on flat roads that's over 55mph. Anything at speed can blind you. Also, why the piss poor attitude, dude? And name calling? Clearly you are mentally ill. Seek medical attention before it's too late. Just checked your channel, yo. Hip hop wannabe poser, from the UK, no less? Lol! Hilarioius. I hope he doesn't delete your comment. It shows your inferiority.
i wish they still sold these in the US! just in the more MODERN version (wave or innova) to adapt towards american tastes. Since we like modern stuff.
@zorropup21 Yup, filmed it all myself. Ain't easy, using throttle hand only to stabilize and turn and use turn signals (they're on the right hand side). Still, it was a lot of fun. Thanks for the positive words. We appreciate it, especially with so much hating going on lately.
This video is so relaxing. Makes me wish I was back in Tokyo... I miss it. Back home after studying abroad now tho. Those things were everywhere!
This video convinced me to have my first motorcycle be an old barn find Honda Passport C70 Deluxe (and the price was right). I have to say that every time I work on it or ride it around, this video and song pop into my mind, that and your super dream video too. Awesome bike man!
Do the newer model cubs have a manual clutch? Just wondering.
@humbleradio he was trolling, which is what everyone does on teh internets. best thing to do is not take anything serious from anyone. Otherwise it starts an entire flaming debate. or simply to ignore.
@hattifnat wow google translate messes all of the words up in a sentence. So i had to rearrange them all in my head. And they are great for adventures!
Great commercial, Great bike. I have the trail version, CT90. One thing is, does not show the off road capabilities of what the cub is really cabaple of, they go anywhere where the BMW super off road enduro bikes go at the fraction of the price.
This is such an awesome ad, and I love the Super Cub. I don't think you can even get them in the United States, which really sucks. Do they have a gear shifter, but an automatic clutch? Or is it all automatic?
@EpiDemic117 Do they? You sure about that? Honda doesn't allow rebranding of their products, especially the Cub, which Honda recognizes as the little seed that grew the big tree. ;) You aren't thinking of the Taiwanese bike Symba?
@humbleradio Oh sorry. That was a few days back before i actually researched it. Yes it is a knock off. Just like the Sym. i REALLY wish they'd sell the new ones with Fuel injection here! If so I'd buy one in a heart beat! monthly payments on it would probably be like 60 bucks. I also Just got a 60's trail 90 today. Need to find exhaust and parts for it...
@humbleradio I mean. they REALLY need to bring the cub back to the states! just imagine how well it would sell when gas gets retarded with price. and they are extremely practical and convenient! i saw the newer ones from japan. They get a little fuel gauge, PGM-FI, and a bunch of neat little extras aded in the mix including a little bit more modern of a body style for the 21 century. They also have the wave which is sold in Mexico that is basically a cub with a different frame. but same engine.
@humbleradio no. you don't want the fuel injection model. They came out in '08 and the tinkering quotient is way down on those for obvious reasons. Also, the plastic add-on on the handlebar fairing looks out of place, as does the exhaust cover which looks and is cheap. Also, I've seen screws on those models already rusted. Mine's a '04. Not garaged nor covered. It's fine six years later and 20k later. You can check out some more details on that on my adventures of a super cub blog.
Great video. Scooters are great, so cheap they almost run off the smell of an oily rag. I'm in thailand and its not uncommon to see family of 5 on a scooter. I recently got a honda and just love my iron horse.
all of my friends from school are wanting to buy brand new 2500 pound bikes from the dealer. why? why fork out over 10 times as much money when you can buy a c50. lets face it, your not going to out do everything on the road no matter what 50cc you get when your 16, so why bother? honda c50 will be my first bike, ive got 9 months untill im 16, cant wait.
I get more stares and thumbs up at the local bike super store when I cruise in than all the Ducatis, Harleys and gawd knows what roll in. That tells ya something. Don't even get me started on the chics that compliment my bike. "Kakoii!!"
@strapamotortoit I daresay, with that attitude, you can look forward to many years of safe and exciting motorcycling. Unlike your friends, who will likely get frustrated and give up motorcycling before they turn 30.
I don't usually warn people about other sites, but since this involves the Super Cub I had to make an exception.
Here's my advice: Avoid ScooterNews. If you are looking for accurate info about the Cub ( and I have to assume other bikes as well) Stay away from ScooterNews. He gets it wrong and then deletes opposing views. Well, it's really my fault, since I should have known better from the start when I saw he was calling the Cub a scooter. Gotta stick up for the Little Honda!
Few questions. a) How much did you pay for the Cub? I live in Nishi-tokyo and was wondering how much a beat-up (but working) cub would set me back. b) Did you take the 50cc moped license? If so how was the test etc?
I just went and watched the extremely poor ad for Super Cub by Honda. The one where the smug voice over says their aim is to make the cub disappear and make something better.
Good grief, what an awful message. Judging by the 'evolution' they've given the cub, their aim will come soon.
Do you still live in Japan? I live in Tochigi and ride my cub to work. It's the funnest part of my day. I can't wait to get off work so I can ride my cub home.
I do, indeed. Just did some shooting today of the cub, in fact. Hopefully have time after the holidays to put something together and up online here. You can see a lot more pics of this cub and other bikes on my blog. I try to get pics of cubs and other cool bikes whenever I can. So, picasa is filling up w/ digital imagery. ;)
Say Humbleradio and all other Cub owners, do you think a old model like that would be ok for a guy my size? im 6'7, 300Lbs? i hear it can handle that kind of weight no problem, but from one owner to a potential buyer? thanks.
Well, i'd say no. Not really for the weight, since if you get a 70 or 90 should be fine. Even the 50 is made to haul stuff, so.
But I'd be more worried about your legs on the pegs. You might feel very cramped at 6'7. I'm 6' and my legs feel the need for a stretch after not too long. I was thinking of moving the pegs either forward or rearward to make it more comfortable. Maybe someday.
thanks for the reply. I suspected my suspicions were correct about hauling my fat ass around. Is there somewhere on the frame or else where where maybe new pegs can be put forward, like the chopper riders do for highway riding to put your legs up?

As a motorcyclist and a film maker I fail to see why this film is any good. The bike is nice though (from what I can see from those shakey shot on video close ups).
It ain't easy holding a camera and riding a motorbike with an acceptable margin of safety! ;) There was no crew. It's all me.
I'll try to do better next time. Thanks for the input. But I generally regard negative criticism with a bit of skepticism until I've seen the work from the source. Your videos are where again?
Indeed, it's fun & easy to customize a Honda Super Cub. Like that cool storage tank forward of the seat (available from Tokyodo in Tokyo, which has a website address). Ditto for replacing the original cheap-looking rearview mirrors, adding a double seat, a sportier exhaust, grips, leather bags, stiffer shock absorbers, etc. and best of all, it's super affordable to do it!
Simply put, one of the coolest videos on Youtube. Awesome song, awesome bike, awesome concept. Although, I kinda wish you had used the break for the reading section, then gone back into the outro for the second part of the riding. However, still excellently shot, edited, and scored.
I like, really like to have one!!! the vid shows how beautiful riding a bike could be without the adrenaline rush and things like that, just the simplest fun in riding a motorcycle/underbone... :) lovely
Almost got it road-ready...negotiating for the slim slotted-type exhaust...wish me luck. Would be nice to ride while listning to that E.L.O song, "Mr. Blue Sky"!!!
