Also the orchestra is the Montbeliard Orchestra from France, founded by Maestro Paul Staicu. This concert marks the 10-th anniversary of the group and included Rhapsody # 2 By George Enescu, Schumann Konzertstuk, Bizet L'Arlesienne Suite and Ravel's Bolero. The great Romanian Horn school was also created by Maestro Staicu who graduated from Prague Conservatory (French Horn) and from Vienna (Conducting). He won several international horn prizes in Moskaw, Prague and Birmingham, England.
This is a great live recording of the piece. Ioan Ratiu plays principal horn in Duisburg, Germany and has received the title of Honorary Citizen of Duisburg. Nicolas Dosa is solo horn with the Monte Carlo Philharmonic. I am not sure where the other two are playing, but somewhere in germany. The conductor here is our horn teacher Paul Staicu.
Great!! Super strong horn playing. I particularly like the low horns (3 & 4), but really everybody did a terrific job in this performance. Way to go!
