Certainly this has been one of the greatest british pop gropus of the 60's, although they were not so known in America, but they are far better than any others like the childish Herman's Hermits so much publicizaed in the US at that time
I have been searching for, and downloading, music from the '60s and '70s for some time now because I want to overdose myself on my childhood nostalgia.
Somehow I managed to completely forget this one until I stumbled upon it just the other day.
What a cheezy, corny song it is, but my god! what a heavy dose of nostalgia it delivers!
@sydcarten What does 'cheesy' mean? A song we might be ashamed of admitting to liking because the critics say it's not cool? It's just a great tune that has survived when many 'cool' songs have vanished off the radar. Snooty critics often turn their noses up at catchy songs as if they were simple to write - but could they write one?
Titch is my friends dad , when i first met him i was 18 (38) now . Going to there home and listening to him play guitar in their lounge totally unaware that he had once been top of the charts !! Really lovely family x
RIP!!!
Thank you for posting this. It is one of the best. Dave will be sadly missed. I only hope he knew how much we all thought of him. Timeless songs. With love XX
God Bless you Dave, you brought so much happiness with your great songs in the late 60s, now another one of Gods artists in heaven, some choir up there now.
had the pleasure of meeting the band in dundee last year thanks 2 tony [beaky] i still keep in touch with him great guy as were the rest sorry to hear news guys R.I.P DAVE DEE
Absolute gem this one. Should have been as big (or close) as its main predecessor, the brilliant 'The Legend Of Xanadu' which hit #1 UK about 8 months before. Sadly, 'Don Juan' didn't quite make the UK Top 20 (#23) which I can't really understand, because I reckon it's really just as good.
Nevertheless DD, D, B, M & T put out some brilliant tracks from the mid-60's till the time they folded.
Attention women and girls, dont waste yr money on slimming clubs,i was bordering on a size 16,now im a healthy size 10,my job is very hot but combined with you tube,i dance the fat away, eat sensibly, dont crash diet, make sure you are healthy first, and good luck lol you have to love music, and mine heals my mind.
Love the big backing, heavy orchestra with "Bullfight" written all over it.The double? wedding of Beaky and Titch distracts from the Spanish theme as it does Titch, but it's all fun stuff anyway.Good vocals again.
LOVE THIS!!!

Deine Band war Weltklasse. Ich erinnere mich noch, daß die Jungs damals alle Euch nachgeeifert haben, es war "in", eine Dave-Dee-Frisur zu haben.

Voor de rest ben ik het met je eens; een fantastische plaat.
