I went back and watched the Peter Sellers "Pink Panther" films and it just made me appreciate and miss him even more. Steve Martin's Clouseau is absolute and utterly unfunny shit. Sellers's comedy on his worst day could run rings around Steve Martin on his best.
IDK about ideas. One of my MAJOR complaints with the Disney company over the past few years is their sheer inability to do something original. How many god awful remakes have we seen in the last 10 years? How many times has Disney shat out a lame sequel to a classic animated film? Or how many movies has Disney made with a title that ends with "...in King Arthur's Court?"
I caught "Dead Men etc." one day on TV and loved it. They took clips from old Humphrey Bogart Gangster movies, and cut them together with original footage of Steve creating a new hilarious storyline.
Looks like I need to check this out..love the noir stuff.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels which he did with Michael Caine was fucking hilarious as well. I'm actually starting to feel bad for Steve Martin now, what the hell happened?
Steve Martin's earlier stuff is really good: like The Jerk, The Man with Two Brains, Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (a 30s-40s film noir spoof), Three Amigos and Roxanne. About the time he remade Father of the Bride is when he lost his soul and became a hack.
I'd say Bowfinger was his last good, funny movie and that came out in '99. Ten years and he's just churning out garbage after garbage. Hey why not remake Dr. Strangelove while you're at it Steve??
That's Bill Burr in the front seat, Otto & George next to Vos and fat Bob Kelly right in the back. Some of the funniest comedians today are all in that shot although for some people, Vos probably doesn't count lol
My favorite is the punchline-WHOOOSH trailers! Oh shit this is so funny I'm in the WHIRLWIND of COMEDY!

I don't care how often they do them, but Andrea Yates and Susan Smith jokes will ALWAYS be funny.

Pink Panther sucked monkey ass. And I'm ashamed as a human being that they made a part two with this jizz bucket Steve Martin. Ugh

I'm not kidding either. I watched the first 15 minutes or so, started losing consciousness, and went to bed.
