The most cost for your 2 weeks trip would be your plane ticket. If you don't go crazy then $1000 is plenty. If you are planing to do lots of shopping then $2k should be enough. The exchange rate is not as good as now, $1=31 baht, and prices has gone up. But overall, Thailand is still cheap for anyone to have a GREAT time.
