Honda makes a million bikes per year. It has not won motogp title since 2003. Ducati has. Hondas are very well built and reliable. Ducati makes about 50,000 bikes per year. its racing budget is tiny compared to Hondas. Yet Ducati wins many more races than Honda currently. How can this be. Ducati are great to ride.
@smilo996 Honda won in 2006 with Nicky Hayden. Also, they just won again this year with Casey Stoner. Please check your information before posting things that are false. And FYI, Honda has more MotoGP wins than any other manufacturer by far.....look it up.
Hahaha dumb ass Italians, they have making and developing Race V-twins for decades, AND then comes Japan's Honda VTR and build equally good (even better) bike in just few years, and kick Ducati's ass in their own game :PPP
To back up "@seechim they are very heavy but they handle very very well" I have had it out of line in the wet quite a few times where I live, (daily commuting during the monsoon season in the tropics) and the rc51 has been unflappable - everything it does is so predictable and it provides so much feedback that it's hard to go wrong - but sticky rubber is a must.
xblankensteinx "I'd take my RC51 over those any day though, it's just a fantastic piece of art. " Yeah u are right it is an awesome machine solely produced to hand ducat's ass to them in WSBK their first production V-twin and the kicked ducati's arse with the sp1 and sp2. Ducati's has been making twin's and dominating sbk for how many years and japan came along and produced that fine piece of machinery and did the job the first time. And second.Back when Collin edwards was still riding.
lol, if you cant tell the difference between the japanese bikes you clearly havent been riding that long, are you telling us on here that its the same riding an aggresive focused tiny zx10r as it is a poised more fluent bike like the blade. just because there all 4s does not mean they have no character.
sorry man but i think we had a little missunderstanding i was answering to astarcleverking who said to don't bike an italian bike........because i don't speak french and i don't understand a word about what the commentator is saying....sorry i didn't explained well in the other message
what????? don't buy italian bikes? what are you saying? i've riden both italian and japanese bikes and i can say that the jap have no personality everytime you ride them it's always he same thing with an italian one instead is a new expwrience every ride.....and what about the sound?what about the feelings?
It's a fact the Japanese bikes are far superior. Much better fit, finish, quality and attention to detail. They start all the time and maintenance is cheap. Japanese bikes are light and easy to handle and are also the most powerful and comfortable road bikes. Gd aftermkt.
Don't buy into the Italian Ducati, MV Agusta hype. They can't even start most of the time! Flaking rockers and $500 maintenance for 1st 600 miles AND excessive motor heat btwn the thighs make for a very uncomfortable ride.
While I myself am a Honda guy, both CBR and RC51 (SP1), I have to say that what our Jap bikes lack is some soul. I always envied the Italian bikes for their style and passion. That and sometimes they sound a tad bit nicer :D
I'd take my RC51 over those any day though, it's just a fantastic piece of art.
yeah & McDonalds make the best food, it's fast and reliable, and always the same every time. I'd rather eat at a good restaurant, tasting delights unknown to mcdonalds, whilst maybe risking the odd bought of food poisoning. If you were talking about washing machines then yeah go for the sensible option, maybe even if you soley use a bike as a means of transport, but for most a bike is a hobby with the good excuse that it can get you places, giving you plenty of reasons 2 'have' 2 ride somewhere.
Just read my old comment - ended up buying an Aprilia RSV 1000R. Never buying Japanese again. Got insanely bored of my last bike (Jap 4 - 600) as the power only came in at 10/11,000 rpm and I was getting overtaken by cyclists below that. Twins are the way forward - the Honda just (on the internet at least) had a bad reputation for being heavy and having poor handling (although it sounds v good).
