Its a problems with the graphics you set. I have witnessed this on the Xbox 360, all you have to do is go to settings, and change the resolution by clicking some things. You have to find out what resolution it supports, if you dont know try each one out:
480
720
1080
1080 p
oIts probably similar in the PS3. Its just that the settings on your old TV, were different, then this TV. That one obviously supported better graphics.

but no use for me since Im not interested in using the small tv anymore. Ill just bring the 720 ones when I go somewhere
