This game is the worst game ever created. The camera sucks so much because you can't even so ahead of you. And the car drives by itself so is this game or a fucken video player?

I play nfs shift and then I play this, both are very fun. This is one of the rare free racing sims that feels real. Aside from the graphics and the invisible damage system its one of the best in my opinion. Im kind of glad the graphics are this way because I can play it on my lower end system as well.

The cars have a great quality, but the tracks don't.. No shadow maps, and low-poly meshes with undetailed textures.. But you can create you own maps..

It misses shaders.. But that's done, because they also want people with 555 MHz pcs to be capable of running this game. Check speed dreams if you want a better quality fork of torcs.

It has damage system only is not visual. One of ability of that came is to create your own robots (custom AI) which is missing on most racing games.

i recognise the alpine track at the start of this vid, it was the first proper track i learned how to get round in one piece (before i drove the ovals). i'm now winning hands down on CG track 2... doing a 42.92 second lap in a F1 car, ouch!!!

It is NOT freeware. Its OPENSOURCE. You can make a custom version of it yourself by modifying the source code and cars or tracks to suit YOUR tastes.

This is IMO, one of the best freeware games I have ever played in a long while. Now, if only I could make even a simple BT renaming to make my own bot, this game could last me well into the next 50 years...
