Back in the 90ies when I played this, I only got one dispel potion. With no way to go back to Tarna to get another, this was it. Now after nearly 20 years, I get to see how the story concludes :-)

No offense to anyone in qfg IV...but constructive critism....Hercrabbiness in this game is so annoying. I feel comments made from her have little to do with the game.

Was a lovely LP of a game that I enjoyed quite a lot back in the day (I love the first four QfG games, I must admit).

Either way, on the combat system... it really isn't about hitting the "right spot" on the monsters or anything like that. Hitting or missing the monster, with a slice or a stab, depends mostly on your stats (as long as you let the attack animation go long enough and don't abort it). So most likely your troubles was due to running from all those ants instead of training. =)

Man this game WAS my childhood, the whole series was. I had always loved this game, but now after watching your playthrough I can see it was a pretty weird game. I think that was always part of the draw for me though. At any rate, your LPs got me through probably the worst week of work I've ever had. Knowing I'd wake up to a LP made my day, thanks Lucah!

The ending pissed me off in this game. You never actually see if the Leopardmen and the Simbani actually make peace with each other (it's going to take more than Johari and Yesufu getting together to repair things!). I'd love to see the look on Raja's face when he sees his neice. And what happened with Harami? Was his honor ever restored, or did he just move onto another land once the caravans came back?

That was a rather sudden ending for what looked like it should've been a massive and sprawling game... QFG 1, you save the Princess, hurray! That thing you set out to do, oh, but you still have to kill a witch... QFG 2, you spend an eternity walking the broke down city of Raseir, idly trying to make it a better place to be, and then, you have fun storming the castle, boys! This? Eh, I finally got to this city, then, end...?

In some ways, I think this game actually has the finest story of all the series. It's the most nuanced and mature in my opinion. Here you arrive at a situation with pre-existing strong social, political and cultural tensions, and you have to work with those. There is a big villain behind the biggest troubles, but what did he have to do to get the whole region boiling for a war? Steal two items, and kill maybe ten people. In a way, I find that much more dangerous than sending out giant monsters.
