  • I'm looking to buy a tanning bed myself for my vitamine D intake, but which lamps and such are the healthiest? Its hard to find this info, since this sun-causes-cancer scam goes around and alll info seems lies.

    Any (real) info is welcome.

    Human beings evolved with the SUN.

    Tanning beds cannot duplicate it.

  • Vitamin D wiped out my flu in about six hours. I took 45,000 IU spread out with food.

    After six hours I only had a headache. I didn't know at the time it was probably caused by low magnesium levels. Your body used MG with D. Vitamin K2 is also a cofactor. Eat green leafy vegetable and nuts and seeds for MG, K2, and other cofactors of vitamin D. If I stopped taking 15k IU every time I ate, then the flu symptoms would start to come back.

  • vitamin d we also get from the sun and there is one that we get that cant get from food or vitamin. so if you have light skin you will get alot of vitamine d.

    5000 IU per day is a safe dosage.

    3 ounces of herring gives you more than 1300 IU

    You won't die from eating 15 ounces of herring.

    Vitamin D is far safer than we are led to believe.

    It prevents colds, flu and even cancer.

  • @Tomken8d2 - Would you say that ingesting, supplementing, or producing Vitamin D is the best way to get the job done? I mean, supplements typically don't have the same available soluble amount as foods, and depending on your schedule and latitude the sun may not be available. I'm guessing ingesting it in the diet may be best???

    I take 50 000IU every day and I am perfectly fine and much helathier than before. VItamin D3 from Biotech

    I don't know what should I look for as far as "toxicity" but I'd rather have more than less since deficiency definitely kills

  • I bought a Vitamin D pills from Merck the beginning of this winter, it had some chemical that makes it dissolve faster in the mouth, in two days i become ill, lol.

    you got Vitamin D in mushrooms that were exposed to sunlight, there are some natural vitamins made from fruits that vitamin D is added to, it is very good.

  • Oh and i did it by mistake i didn't see it was from Merck

    it was the only 5 euro i spent the last year and more on pharmaceutical drugs for myself.

  • Yeah i know, but i was trying to raise the fact that there is vitamin D in nature rather than meat/milk/eggs.

    They had a plan lately to make fuel out of fish oil,

    i kind of don't like those plans, i have nothing against people eating some fish though, its ok if the fish didn't grow up in pollution or misery or both.

  • Nope it's not a hoax.... but it's not a cure either. It significantly improves the odds in your favor. Like working out and reducing fat intake would. You know the drill. ;^)

    Try this on 10 people and if more than two have this experience we have a good chance it actually has this effect.

    People get sicker when they lack sun exposure (Vitamin D) in the winter.

  • My point is. We need the stuff. If you don't take extra you are not taking good care of your body. And of couse you will have a great effect if you did take enough. It just isn't a miracle cure.

    But you will not hear any industry about it because there isn't any money in "natural solutions".
