lol i bought this when it released and it worked perfectly for 2 days but than somehow my computer wouldn't boot and i tried charging it and it would boot... i went to apple store and they said my hardrive and osx was not functioning properlly and so they said they can fix it but i asked if i could have my money back and they said yes... and i bought a 13 inch mac book pro and im happy with it :)

Pretty expensive for a system that not too long ago, had FireWire, two audio ports, a removable battery, along with Apple Remote support, for a hundred quid less.

At this price you're far better just allowing yourself to be upsold to the Pro - but people should check out the Refurb discounts first, because £800+ at the entry level is just too high.

i was gonna get this Mac for my birthday but i instead went with the 13 inch MacBook Pro because it has backlit keyboard, its made of aluminum (more durable) and it has an SD card slot if u have a digital Camera. Another reason why i didnt want to get this Mac was because, it is shiny and made of plastic, so it would scratch. Ive went to the apple store many times and seen the MacBook White case scratched, and wen i went to use the MacBook Pros, ive never seen a huge scratch on them

yea my old macbook had like cracks and like plastic would peel off so i suggest the aluminum. I actually upgraded to the aluminum and i havent had any problems

the difference with the old gen and this one is that it is much sturdier than before so i think they have fixed that problem already.. and the plastic they used for this one doesnt peel off anymore.. =)

I'm in Australia, and for me the best choice is the white MacBook, because it actually surpasses the more expensive 13" MacBook Pro (the Pro has a 120GB as opposed to the MacBook's 250GB).

Plus, the MacBook is a far more recent model now. The Pro is in the middle of it's cycle.

If you need it now, the Macbook is the only good choice. If you're willing to wait a few months, then the Pro is the computer for you. ATM though, they're both pretty much identical with regard to tech specs, despite the Macbook being much cheaper.

Yeah macs are good, better than PCs but they still come with many problems. Example the case cracks due to the heat, the fan often jams, leaving my macbook to shutdown. Oh not to mention my hard drive failing within less than a year and then apple refusing to replace it...stingy barstards. If your planing on getting a mac or any other apple product prepare to pay big bucks when something goes wrong with it because apple are stingy!
