The HIV test doesn't identify the actual virus which is so infinitesimally small that it requires an electron microscope to see it which is prohibitively expensive. The HIV test is only able to identify the "antibodies" to the virus.

I'm happy for you that your test came back negative. You did the right thing by getting tested. However, hanging a rubber from your rearview mirror could be considered an obstruction. It may be a good idea to move it to an alternate location. If a cop sees it, technically, he could write you up. There was an article several years ago in the Reader's Digest about a guy being fined for hanging an air freshener from his mirror. I do not want to see you get in trouble.

The HIV test doesn't identify the actual virus which is so infinitesimally small that it requires an electron microscope to see it which is prohibitively expensive. The HIV test is only able to identify the "antibodies" to the virus.
HIV is a RETRO virus similar to herpes which a huge portion of the population is harboring, imagine if we gave a death sentence to everyone with herpes and started medicating them with lethal chemotherapy?
HIV-AIDS is a hoax. Google Dr. Duesberg from UC Berkeley.

I mean it, check out Dr. Duesberg from UC Berkeley, Phd in molecular biology who easily got all the grants he wanted before he came forward to let people know that a simple RETRO virus cannot cause a total immune system breakdown that looks suspiciously like a bunch of other diseases with known origin. You test "positive" for AIDS and bam! Here's some chemotherapy to make you really feel like shit. Besides the fact we told you you're dying. Have a nice day.

@2dogarage So, you're saying that HIV does exist but causes no harm. You're saying HIV does not bring about AIDS. You're saying that the drugs they give HIV+ people is what makes them feel ill. Ok. Well, what does cause AIDS then, if it isn't HIV. And what about those people who are HIV+ and have been for years and then DO go on to develop AIDS (and die from it). How did they get AIDS if it wasn't caused by being HIV+?

@bacabu30 I highly recommend checking out Duesberg's work which can explain things much better than I but he claims that recreational drugs esp. heroin,meth, cocaine & amyl nitrate can ruin your health and cause an immune deficiency syndrome, notice they don't even call it a disease. African AIDS is brought about by poverty-induced health risks like poor diet, unclean water, lack of modern health care, etc. Enough chemotherapy and your body WILL shut down eventually.

Sorry I haven't made an impression but who am I to hope to shed light on this subject when a brilliant dr. of molecular biology who threw away his career to do so hasn't been able to stop all of the needless suffering. I've known about him for over a decade so I understand not getting it if it's brand new to you.

According to a manual that they gave me at the health department, most individuals will produce antibodies within a month. However, testing at one month is inconclusive, as a small number of people can take up to three months. In extremely rare cases, it can take up to six months.

A retro virus does indeed hang out in the body indefinitely and then exhibits symptoms under a variety of possible stresses on the system. What Duesberg is saying is that it's an impossible David and Goliath situation. con't...

I'm happy for you that your test came back negative. You did the right thing by getting tested. However, hanging a rubber from your rearview mirror could be considered an obstruction. It may be a good idea to move it to an alternate location. If a cop sees it, technically, he could write you up. There was an article several years ago in the Reader's Digest about a guy being fined for hanging an air freshener from his mirror. I do not want to see you get in trouble.

please, Josh, do two things for me: (1) practice safe sex and (2) don't fall for the HIV scam! I'm an immunologist. There are over 400 compounds in the typical human blood stream which can give you a false positive on an HIV test. So what does a positive reading mean? Who knows? Just use condoms, darling...

Unless you're feeling mighty sick don't take the test, it doesn't even identify the virus itself but the ANTIBODIES to HIV -- meaning it's so spectacularly small that it has to be seen with an electron microscope which is so expensive they don't even use it to tell you you're gonna die from a made-up crisis.
HIV does NOT cause AIDS but plenty of other things can if you have a death wish and disrespect your own life.

@2dogarage Even someone takes the test and is told they're HIV +, they are not compelled to take any drugs whatsoever. Taking the drugs is optional. They can choose to take no drugs but their life will be much shorter.
So what if they don't use electron microscopes to test for the virus. Seeing if there are antibodies to HIV is enough to know if one is HIV+.

WHY should black people test + more than any other group? Std's are related to behaviors not race. Why should "black" be a risk group for an alleged sex disease but international white cokewhores like Paris Hilton not a risk group all on their own? Answer...it's all in the testing. When tests are UNstandardized they are subjective and opne to interpretation.

@bacabu30 Yep. Plus both the Elisa and WB are antibody tests. using an antibody test to confirm an antibody test is like using a bible to "confirm" a bible (or a Koran if you're catholic). Without a means of independently verifying the results aka a reference standard you're just going in a circle.
There are about 10 different ways to read results so what is + in one lab or country might not be + in another google....HIV POSITIVE? DEPENDS ON where YOU LIVE...THE HIV WESTERN BLOT TEST
