Wasnt your fault, addiction can happen to anyone. Its the doctors there just legal drug dealers, but addictions arent the problem. Theres an underlying problem that causes addiction. If the doctor prescribing those drugs couldnt tell he's stressed out over something then it isnt a good doctor, goodluck finding one though. Im not singling anyone out im just saying, im only 16 been addicted to hydrocodone, codeine, vyvanse, and clonazepam all drugs i recieved for legit medical reasons.. Pot eases

Ritalin killed my 22 yr old son Sean who took this drug from age 12. He started abusing this highly addictive schedule 2 drug in college and went from A student to dropout to a young man wanting help but overdosed due to the brain damage I believe this drug caused. Nora Volkow of the NIDA believes this drug abuse causes damage in the frontal lobe. I wish the doctors would have warned us. I am sorry Sean. I let you down.

If I won any money I want to honor my son by helping addicts by opening a clinic or contributing to a good one that has the right treatment like Nora Volkow talks of minimum of 90 days.

The very worst side effect of smoking pot (and this is only if you smoke it) is that it's kind of bad for your lungs (I say kind of because compared to tobacco cigarettes that are filled with tar and god knows what else are worse).

The only real serious side effect is lack of motivation. This of course only really comes with abusing it and by abusing it i mean smoking multiple times a day everyday. Even this very serious side effect takes quit awhile to become an actual problem. At the same time ive known MANY folks that become extremely motivated while high so Im guessing it depends on the person. Weed is illegal because of the money it brings to people that matter, like taxes everyone pays to fight the war on drugs

EternalMasterTyler is correct in his statement. Smoking herb puts more carcinogens in your lungs, tar, etc. However, smoking it allows every cannabinoid to be released, where as vaporizing it only allows the thc to be released into your system.

But it also dilates the alveoli in the lungs allowing such tar and carcinogens to be processed/removed quickly and effectively. Unlike tobacco, which causes them to stay within the lungs for longer than usual.

Perhaps to you, you feel and do better when on the drug. Many others I knew, who used the drug, thought the same as you - but they would behaving erractically, violent mood swings, and worse. In certain cases, it would cause additional health problems, which they felt needed more usage - but all it did was result in further damage. One of the worst cases I saw was someone in rehab who ended up having lesions in his brain and his liver had almost literally liquified due to marijuana.

In all fairness, others thought the same of me - after I had tried to kill myself with inhalant abuse. I couldn't sleep, my nerves were raw, and my skin began to turn yellow. I now have cirrhosis as a result of my usage (although it is currently stablized, fortunately). But I will tell you that I'm more humbled by having this disease. Its made me realize what a fool I was in doing what I did. Many others I know have gone through worse with marijuana and those that do give it up do better off it.

No I don't naively believe everything I see or hear from the media or TV. I actually speak from firsthand experience and I've seen how the drug has ruined people's lives. Although in my case, I almost ruined my life with inhalant abuse - but I also was a drug addict (taking prescription drugs). Luckily, I quit cold turkey and have been clean now for over 3 years, but many others I knew - decided to keep pressing to have their drug usage legalized and it all results in them destroying themselves.

okay thats odd, i recall cannabis as a plant, not drug. Ive never heard of POT alone destroying someones life. I heard people who use to smoke pot but did it to much, got used to it and went on to hardcore drugs like crack and what not. One day I realized that I was just ruining all of my goals and dreams so I quit. Now I use a little bit like once every 3 or 4 months, and every time is so amazing like the first time. The only reason Tobacco and Alcohol are more legal than Marijuana is because the government can make money off them.

Alcohol can pay the salaries of the police as a lot of the crime on the streets can be rooted to alcohol, and the government can put taxes on tobacco, so they are able to make a large amount of money for their spending needs.

Marijuana can be grown, so it can easily be privately sold, meaning that taxes can be avoided.

These are the obvious reasons that Marijuana is illegal.

From what I have gathered, the raids will only go if the caregivers dare to say no to both state and federal legislative scribblings. But you are correct because they recently raided in San Fran.
