I did the math adding 9% sales tax to my monthly purchases would cost me more than I pay right now. and u can not argue that a sales tax will not increase prices. @x6mj The cost to employ you is far more then $20,000 today. Under Cain, It won't be. The cost of the good you buy cost a lot more today because of taxes.
So one of two thing will happen. Either the cost of good will go down as companies can take the saving from taxes and lower the prices, or companies will still spend the same per employee, yet pay that employee more.
Today you pay a LOT more in taxes then you think you pay. You will pay less under Cain, but none of it will be hidden.
@TheRealMafoo Corps. do not actually pay their full taxes, one of the reasons their rate is so high. The company I work for may save some on taxes, but not enough to make any difference to me. It's the same with the cost of my supplies, any decrease in rates will just be offset by the sales tax. His plan does cut tax revenue in half, but the only agency he is against is the epa, all others he wants to ramp up. Even if the economy grew, he still would not be able to pay for his big gov.

Among economists, he has the unique position as a man who took his ideas, and put them in action. Something has to change. We know that. Based on Cain's promotion of economic stimulus/bailout measures, it seems that he isn't for as free of a market economy as he claims. Based on his foreign policy, we will continue to spend $1 trillion a year on that policy of having about 1,000 military bases around the world. He's a pretty good speaker, though. You do understand that it doesn't matter how a government loans out money if the currency itself only has value in direct proportion to the amount of inflation being pumped into the economy? Just so everyone understands, public corporations have to continue making profits. Hiring millions of people when you don't necessarily need them is simply not in any company's best interest. Neither Herman Cain nor Obama can create private sector jobs. In the end it is up to profit-minded companies to decide if they need more employees. I did the math adding 9% sales tax to my monthly purchases would cost me more than I pay right now. and u can not argue that a sales tax will not increase prices. @x6mj The cost to employ you is far more then $20,000 today. Under Cain, It won't be. The cost of the good you buy cost a lot more today because of taxes.
So one of two thing will happen. Either the cost of good will go down as companies can take the saving from taxes and lower the prices, or companies will still spend the same per employee, yet pay that employee more.
Today you pay a LOT more in taxes then you think you pay. You will pay less under Cain, but none of it will be hidden.

@TheRealMafoo Corps. do not actually pay their full taxes, one of the reasons their rate is so high. The company I work for may save some on taxes, but not enough to make any difference to me. It's the same with the cost of my supplies, any decrease in rates will just be offset by the sales tax. His plan does cut tax revenue in half, but the only agency he is against is the epa, all others he wants to ramp up. Even if the economy grew, he still would not be able to pay for his big gov.

Among economists, he has the unique position as a man who took his ideas, and put them in action. Something has to change. We know that. Of the list of 5-10 people with option of being president right now, I know of no one with better answers then Cain. Definitely no one more capable.

Based on Cain's promotion of economic stimulus/bailout measures, it seems that he isn't for as free of a market economy as he claims. Based on his foreign policy, we will continue to spend $1 trillion a year on that policy of having about 1,000 military bases around the world. He's a pretty good speaker, though. A company CEO makes more money for the company than a cashier does because the CEO assumes a greater amount of responsibility for the company. As you go up the company food chain you make more money because you have proven a value greater than a stocker or cashier. Herman Cain is the former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. This guy means nothing but trouble. The Fed is an unconstitutional, privately owned banking institution that inflates the money supply with federal reserve notes, which are worthless and backed by absolutely nothing. Just paper with the pic of a dead president on it. Inflating the money supply in this fashion leads to the inevitable destruction of the dollar. Of course he doesn't want to audit the fed. Lol RP 2012!!

You do understand that it doesn't matter how a government loans out money if the currency itself only has value in direct proportion to the amount of inflation being pumped into the economy? The reason I asked you this is because it is no different than any other financial institution that makes loans, private or otherwise. They are materialising money out of thin air based on a promise. (and in some people's minds like yours, backed by nothing.) Since so much of our economy -functions- because of these devices, why do you believe that the engine itself is bad instead of those who are abusing it?

What other private bank can order the treasury to start printing new bills and charge interest for every dollar printed? Nothing like other banks you imbecile. Our economy was thriving prior to 1913 when the Fed was enacted, and took a sharp downturn immediately after as inflation skyrocketed and the dollar lost value. What kind of good financial engine destroys 96% of a currency's value? The engine is bad, as long as most of the people who run it. Why were the 1st and 2nd Banks of the US abolished, being essentially the same thing as the Federal Reserve? Why are we 14 trillion in debt and counting? Because the engine runs so good? lol.

I love to listen to Cain, however, watch LOTS of Herman Cain and he says the same thing again and again. He is a REAL good speaker. What happens at the end of the year, when the 6.2% is reinstated?What about military, drilling, healthcare? You talk about the plan that is in the works...what is the plan?What about illegals? Anchor babies? What about securing the border? Talk is really wonderul but is he more than a speech, more than great quotes. Procede with caution.

2.) Who owns the Federal Reserve?

We'd have to open their books and see what they've been up to. Government intervention into Medicine and Healthcare costs us more money than all other initiatives combined.
