That was a very clean shot! He was Quartered Away so he had to place that shot exactly the way he did! Definitely nailed the vitals and the elk didn't travel far at all after the shot! Great Job!

i've seen pictures of does without underjaw or an arrow sticking through their snout- preserved to starve painfully.

so a heartshot is generally the definition of a clean shot.
