this is the gay college division isnt it??? lol how about you all type in sioux hockey fights now those r real college fights im not kidding either see for yourselves
that's what i said... trust me i know my shit much better than you ever will. Game DQs are required for college fights, and they carry an automatic one game suspension.
quick don't look at your rulebook- what's the penalty for unzipped hockey pants??
Remember, in America we read left to right, up-to-down. Danqes7x said that there aren't DQs. He was thinking of Juniors.
hey all, say what you want, but #16 Pete Majkozak, knew exactly what he was doing. He not only took his gloves off, but the elboy pads as well. Thats key for a good fight! The quality of club hockey is much better. Most of these kids have played Juniors at some point!
I can't believe they let them fight, usually the refs break it up right away in college. I didn't like the kid in the dark jersey doing the hand wipe after the fight like he won. He got shit pumped in the beginning and only got in his punches when the other kid was down. What a cheap piece of shit.
these aren't even real hockey teams... or players, just club teams. c'mon they look so stupid trying to shake their gloves off. Never seen real players struggle like that, not to mention circle each other like scared puppies
i no who that kid is talking about and he is the biggest faggot ever. no one likes him and hes full of himself. i could imagine y his older brother in the dark is the same way.
i no who that kid is talking about and he is the biggest faggot ever. no one likes him and hes full of himself. i could imagine y his older brother in the dark is the same way.
this is acha, so it's club hockey. not traditional division 1 or division 3. it's competitive, but it's not the creme of the crop. so they let fights go on because with the exception of traditional hockey markets like schools in minnesota, they need to sex up the games with fighting in places like iowa. i used to play in a similar league at bemidji state.
yes in ncaa, but in the acha for the kids who aren't good enough to make the D-1 team that still want to play competitive full contact hockey, they play for the club team.
i ref acha and division 3 hockey, and the lineys let em go b/c that's what we're suppose to do, since juniors, you are suppose to let em scrap. That's wat we as refs learn, so yeah, learn the rules.
thank you so much for your opinion on my reffing . . . but in answer to your question, it's because that's what is implemented by the east and west section chiefs of usa hockey....no reason. It's probably because they don't want any major injuries resulting to the GOOD hockey players, compared to the players I ref....but that's just a hypothetical guess.
Hckeystr: D1 has a rule that says players will be suspended for a game if they have a fighting major. So D1 refs do what they have to do make it seem logical to just give double roughing minors instead of fighting majors.
I do think that they should just let guys go at it, since its actually really dangerous to step in too early.
Those schools really should have proper D-I varsity teams. But to answer your question: its a club league. For college guys not good enough to play the real deal, or who wanted an education over playing hockey at a lesser school.
In the NHL alone, you have 41 home games for each of the 30 teams. That's 1230 games a year for the NHL. 16500 is a lowball estimate for the average attendance at any given NHL game. That's over 20,000,000 people a season. Plus playoff crowds.
And that doesn't include college, minor league, junior or high school hockey crowds.
The New Year's Day game in Buffalo this year sold out 60,000+ tickets in a matter of hours.
I'm pretty sure hockey doesn't need fights to pack 'em in.
hahahahhaha, i would be saying(im a ref) lets get this shit on the road or else get the fuck off my ice, i got a after party to go to so hurry i up you 2 little bitches hahaha, nah but i would say hurry it up or get off the ice
By the way, the Cyclones were swept that weekend by an Illinois team that was missing four of their top players because the were in Italy playing in the World University Games. And, paednoch probably didn't even apply to such a backward college, so how would he have been rejected?
I'm sorry, but didn't the Cyclones just beat Illinois for the CSCHL Championship? And their best players were back? On small ice, it was ALL Cyclones. And I have no idea who paednoch is.
Ok, I was aware of that, that puts the record at 2-1 in favor of Illinois, but Iowa State did win on the neutral ice, so I'll call it even. But, if both Illinois and Iowa State win their first round games at nationals, they will meet again, and we shall see who is better.
The cyclone player was mad that the other guy was boinking his girlfriend who is a resident of the Sheep Pavillion In LAMES, IOWA. Typical cyclone goat-roper. Iowa State is a Land Grant college originally founded for challenged students.
I didn't even know Illinois and Iowa State had hockey. Go Gophers!!!

They aren't supposed to but this is club lol they get EJ'ed from the game and possibly suspended.
blainehockeyguy 3 years ago
they get DQ'd, not EJ'd. and they do get suspended, because DQs carry at least a one game suspension
zboy2712 3 years ago
false. #16 was on the ice during that. He got EJ'd and a game. there is no DQing in hockey.
DaNqEs7x 3 years ago
NCAA rulebook, its called a game disqualification, or a DQ.

dude if that was college hockey then they would not have let them fight, and if it was college hockey, then those refs should be fired.

actually if a fight breaks out they let it go until one or both players hit the ice. learn hockey.

yeah in the nhl...college hockey is different, learn the rules before you start talking.

then why do none of the refs doing D1 games let them fight? I think you need to go back to ref school.

This isn't really a big deal. Up here in Canada they start fighting when they are 13, and when they are 16 and up there is almost a fight per game.
Truby12 4 years ago
is this some sort of developmental league? iowa state? illinois? stick to football and basketball, leave hockey to to the big boys.

Actually ISU's hockey team never used to be a club team. That is until title 9 came along and fucked up everything.
stehenallein 4 years ago
The only reason they light fighting continue in hockey is 'cause it wouldn't draw a crowd otherwise.
