Toshiba XDE at IFA 2008

I bought an XDE and returned it two days later, I wasn't impressed, the sharp feature is too much for some movies and your always having to constantly from the three features to the actual resolutions.

i think the problem is that most DVD's have

a very poor picture to start with, have you seen

how low the bit rate is on today's DVD's

it's so low that most movies would fit on a 4.7 disk with no problem.

Gone are the days of the Super Bit DVD's

SuperBit DVDS were awesome they look amazing on an HDTV.

Yeah I'd rather support blu ray with its lenghty two years left life span and blow my money on $30 dvds like its 1999!

upscaling isn't that great.

I was given a demonstration and it didn't impress me.
