Second Coming was an album full of ego and was worlds apart from their first. It's still a million times better than today's music. I think that new music in the last ten years or so has been really fucking dire. It's been tedious, pretentious and depressing, and i hope The Stone Roses provide the antidote it's needed for so long.

The most overrated band ever. Awful vocals, simple repetitive guitar riffs, ok bass although not in the same league as someone like Flea, nice fluid drumming but better than Kieth Moon? On top of all that there is the knobhead bands the spawned(Oasis, The Charlatans, Blur, Shed Seven etc), and they seem to be the Stone Island clad football thug/poseur band of choice.

But John Squire is an amazing guitarist - listen to anything off second coming eg love spreads, driving south, begging you etc and bass and drumming are as good as you're ever going to get. Minus Ian Brown you can't really get much more talented individuals
