  • Why is it doing this while its not even close to the horizon? I smell speculation.

  • Scintillation?! You don't actually believe that do you? No Way! Something is Seriously wrong with Sirius! There are other stars in the night sky that do this also and they are no where near the horizon. I watched it every night I could in the months of April and May 2011. It did this Crazy rapid color change of Lightning bolt type energy, no matter how high it was above the horizon and even on crystal clear nights. That thing is looking dangerous! It is our closet star too I think.

  • @TheVernon52

    That's Proxima Centauri, you idiot.

    Sirius is 8.6 lightyears away.

  • @DreamTraveller1 I mean't the brightest. Excuse me. Idiot troll mouth!

  • I've seen this for 7 or 8 years now. Usually in the southeastern sky from where I am.

I showed it to a friend of mine and she dubbed it the "Party Star" because of all the colors, and that it seems to pulse to a beat. : )

  • how long has this phenomena been observed? Ive only started noticing the intensity of it in the last 5 years? Am I mistaken?

  • Wow that is pretty cool, glad you shared it with me:)

  • I just was looking at same. what color! thanks for cool vid.
