@HannieBananie1000 To make a forward knot you basicly make a "4" shape with the string and to make a backward knot you make a backward "4" shape :) let me know if this helps you!! :)

Whenever you fold the strings, instead of making a backwards "4" shape, make a regular forwards 4 (you should see the # 4 when you do this) to make a forward knot. Beyond Bracelets has videos that tell you how to make all types of knots if you go to her page and click the yellow button that says start here (at least I think that's what it says)... @qtcraftygurl I'd assume you'd waste your strings unless you finished the edge of the row with a mixed knot to put a new string in the first and last places. If you just went forward then backward you'd be using the same string the entire time.

@thatsmesarahb No, I don't braid it. I just use the six stranded floss as is. I guess you could braid it but it might be lumpy. Your best bet would be to try using three strands as one and just let them be loose beside one another so they settle properly.
You say you fold the 60" string in half - do you cut them so you end up with 2 30" strings or just tie them at the joined end? (I hope that makes sense >.<)
@Strawberryluva13 If you can imagine pulling a babies hair... that's how hard you should be doing it. For the most part you should barely be tugging. Now, I'm not saying that you don't pull at all but you shouldn't be all HULK SMASH with your strings.

@Strawberryluva13 Hm... If you are making the knots properly then it shouldn't curl. I've heard of people not making two knots per string and having it curl because they didn't do two knots per strand. If you are doing two knots per strand maybe it is being pulled too tightly?

@BlessTheOneWithHeart I'm assuming I was talking about thick stripes. If you have a green/green/red/red/blue/blue pattern you'd be doubling up the knots since you'd have two rows of the same color giving double the thickness.
@ganstaboii23322 It's because rubbing them evens out the knots. I do it to make the knots settle better and get rid of any small holes or snags the bracelet has.
I am so glad I came across your channel! I found the pattern for the rainbow arrow head online, I printed it out, but it was too confusing. @Elizaburrrtt Crimp ends with clasps or doing a braid on either side. Since there is no fold there is no loop and without a loop you need an alternate method since two braids to tie on with a loop won't work without the loop.

@Girlswithheart Well, you need about 40" and just braid the one side about 3 inches and then make the bracelet and at the end braid another 3 or so and you should be fine.
@phpybubbles Kind of string? It's six stranded embroidery floss, I like DMC brand best... and I get it from Michaels art store- AC Moore has it as well. It's in the embroidery/needlework section of the art store.
It isn't really a "flip-flop" since there is no flip and definitely no flop. I just titled it because I had made the flip-flop as well at one point (took the video down because I know I could do better) and I titled this one with a 'sub title' since I figured the people who didn't like the real flip-flop one might like this.

@gabriela0925 Six Stranded Embroidery Floss. DMC brand is the 'best' brand... but they have other brands like that are cheaper 105 skeins for $15.00 like Prism (not too fond of it) and DFN by the Jannlynn company (which I prefer over prism.)
People also use craft thread but I dislike it and find it breaks way too easily if you aren't super gentle with your knots.
@azvidsful No, you can use as many as you'd like... just make sure you get through all of the strings when making the rows. (8 strings, 8 rows per candystripe section. 8 forwards then 8 backwards etc.)
The zig-zags will get longer each time you add another string making longer forward and backward "candystripe" sections, though.

@kbug1919 Go to the "Beginner Basics" playlist on my channel and learn the four types of knots... then try making a forward candy stripe... then a backward candy stripe. It will help you make this bracelet.
You need to make forward knots (a normal candy stripe) then just stop and start doing it backwards (backward candy stripe) then once you finish all those you go back to forward. The point should happen naturally once you switch directions.
@SunForeverShinning I wouldn't doubt it if you were serious- this was the first one I ever made of this pattern. The example I showed in the beginning was actually the one that I was making it in the video. Other than this video- I've never made it before this... so basically I learned/made it on cam. =P
Do you know of the braclette where tou have five strings, folded in half so you have loops at the bottom, putting three strings on your first 3 fingers on one hand, and the other two string loops on the other... this sounds confusing, so it probably is, but have you ? In a sense, it has a sort of braid like look in the end :)
Since I have absolutely nothing to do this summer I've got obsessed with making these kinds of bracelets. I like the video because all I knew how to make was the spiral type ones, now I know how to make two from just this one video!

@Girlswithheart Well, you need about 40" and just braid the one side about 3 inches and then make the bracelet and at the end braid another 3 or so and you should be fine.

@phpybubbles Kind of string? It's six stranded embroidery floss, I like DMC brand best... and I get it from Michaels art store- AC Moore has it as well. It's in the embroidery/needlework section of the art store.

@theejb2000 This is normal.
It isn't really a "flip-flop" since there is no flip and definitely no flop. I just titled it because I had made the flip-flop as well at one point (took the video down because I know I could do better) and I titled this one with a 'sub title' since I figured the people who didn't like the real flip-flop one might like this.

@suxaniita I did have it posted at one point but it was weird. I never made it before and making it right then and there on cam was more difficult (tripod between my arms) so I took it down. I could put it back on the to-do list I suppose. lol.

@asianlover00118 You can use more or less but the pattern steps will change. If you use less, there will be fewer rows. If you use more, there will be more rows.

@gabriela0925 Six Stranded Embroidery Floss. DMC brand is the 'best' brand... but they have other brands like that are cheaper 105 skeins for $15.00 like Prism (not too fond of it) and DFN by the Jannlynn company (which I prefer over prism.)
People also use craft thread but I dislike it and find it breaks way too easily if you aren't super gentle with your knots.

@azvidsful No, you can use as many as you'd like... just make sure you get through all of the strings when making the rows. (8 strings, 8 rows per candystripe section. 8 forwards then 8 backwards etc.)
The zig-zags will get longer each time you add another string making longer forward and backward "candystripe" sections, though.

ok what r u using for string becasue it looks like a wide braclet but when i do it it really little so how do u get it to look so fat/wide

@azvidsful By having it literally 3 inches from my camera.
It's just regular embroidery floss that is really close to the camera. It's not large, it's normal sized six-stranded DMC brand embroidery floss.

@kbug1919 Go to the "Beginner Basics" playlist on my channel and learn the four types of knots... then try making a forward candy stripe... then a backward candy stripe. It will help you make this bracelet.
You need to make forward knots (a normal candy stripe) then just stop and start doing it backwards (backward candy stripe) then once you finish all those you go back to forward. The point should happen naturally once you switch directions.

@SunForeverShinning I wouldn't doubt it if you were serious- this was the first one I ever made of this pattern. The example I showed in the beginning was actually the one that I was making it in the video. Other than this video- I've never made it before this... so basically I learned/made it on cam. =P

Do you know of the braclette where tou have five strings, folded in half so you have loops at the bottom, putting three strings on your first 3 fingers on one hand, and the other two string loops on the other... this sounds confusing, so it probably is, but have you ? In a sense, it has a sort of braid like look in the end :)

Since I have absolutely nothing to do this summer I've got obsessed with making these kinds of bracelets. I like the video because all I knew how to make was the spiral type ones, now I know how to make two from just this one video!

I love your vids soo much!!!! I did mine like ... I was gonna do a candy stripe doing forward nots only then I thought I was wrong cause it was like sideways so after 3 rows without watching any vid I did backward knots and It was really nice but the string that I used to make forward and the backward like for u the purpul it's running out mine came out a zig zag not a candy stripe like I wanted and ways my string. Is running out what should I do
