Is this the famous (infamous?) Brockway Mountain stage? If it is, my understanding is that you can no longer officially spectate at that one...at least like that. You'd have to be a LOT further away from the road.

Yes, this is toward the end of the Brockway stage. I believe he had the fastest time on the stage that year. I was lucky enough to be at this particular stage and point when this happened. It was amazing. In the years leading up to this, the cars were getting more and more air , so the stage gained popularity quickly. This was basically the last year they allowed people on the stage, with a few other incidents where people DID get hurt (other rallies, not this one). Never been the same.
