Cant wait for the 5th INDIANA JONES!!!!!!!!!!

  • Watching this made me feel like crying. John Williams you are the best

  • The guy saying "no way" at 0:02 is a idiot. He is watching a performance of John Williams.. ofcourse he is going to hear all the major tunes what does he expect. But whatever lets not hate the flaws of humanity.

  • @misterbearbe He may be saying "No way" because he can't believe he is hearing his (possibly) favorite tune in a live performance with the actual composer a few meters in front of him directing the orchestra. O:

  • James Horner is also really good, but John Williams is better ^^

  • I never got the "applauding at an orchestra is a bad thing" comments. They even did it for John Williams at the Oscars in 2002. As long as the performance is not being interrupted or disturbed, who cares? And who's to say what reaction is the right one? The Japanese consider making no applause, even during the credits of a film, to be a complement..

  • @gundammon Indiscriminate applause is widely considered a violation of classical music concert etiquette: Applause is discouraged between movements, reserved instead for the end of the entire work. There have been a number of attempts to further restrict applause in various circumstances, e.g., court theaters in Berlin prohibit applause during the performance and before the curtain call (although elsewhere in Germany this is felt to be beyond public tastes).

  • @misterbearbe There's a shock...Germany telling people how they should act. This is not, by definition, "classical music." It's a soundtrack, although an exceptionally good one. You're trying to compare the etiquette and manners of a movie theater to an opera house. The latter is stiff and conventional, whereas the former is geared towards gut emotion and audience reaction; of COURSE they're going to applaud.

By the way, you won't win any fans with your endearing "loud American" comments.

  • @gundammon Indiscriminate applaus

  • @gundammon I do not need any "fans" to feel good.

  • the leia thing is true and it would make sense since he wrote that too. :)

  • have you noticed at 2:05 that the first two notes sound like princess leia's theme?

even the violins in the background sound like leia's

  • @GiantMeatStalk a little insecure about it? i thought so.

  • @GiantMeatStalk we don't view it as disrespect. we show our appreciation as we deem necessary. btw....your welcome for the hitler thing.

  • @GiantMeatStalk Stuff it gramps. One must ALWAYS applaud Indiana Jones.

  • so awesome! John Williams and Howard Shore are the best film composers in my opinion.

  • @GiantMeatStalk It's probably the pops, and it's meant to be fun. It must be horrible living in a place where the freedom to express musical enjoyment is stifled by pompous and pretentious attitudes.

  • @SQUIRRELJazz its called etiquette part of tradition.. you loud American.

  • John Williams, Hanz Zimmer and Randy Newman are all the best film soundtrack composers

  • John Williams is The Man...

(Another Subject, I even like the a Capella ^^)

  • BTW question for the video poster: This wouldn't happen to have been in London about 10-15 years ago would it? I remember I was in London and went to a John Williams concert and this was the last of his encores. I was just wondering if this was it. If so,I was there, was a kid, and I remember that. Thanks so much for posting.

haha brings back soo many memories!

  • He needs to record an official live DVD of him performing his best pieces. I would get it on Blu-ray even just to pump it through 7.1 surround sound.

  • Comment removed

  • Normally when I see a home made vid like this, I'll skip through it.

But this orchestra is top notch and the sound is not all that bad.

Movie themes are, in many ways, today's classical music.

From An American in Paris to Magificent 7 to Star Wars to Indiana Jones, it's all quite enjoyable.

    Thanks for the upload.

  • an AMERICAN classic

  • i dont think John Williams ever was a music teacher he has always been involved in orchestral music.

  • yes this john williams.

  • I take it you were born in 1973 than you attended elementary school at the age of 6 which brings us to 1979 . In that time he was composing themes for Superman(1979), SW-Empire Strikes Back(1980) and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)! I really doubt he had time to teach elementary school. Its really hard to believe you!

  • yes john williams!

  • This John Williams was not your music teacher.

  • you mean Mr. Williams as in John Wiliams, as in the ugy in this video!??!

  • This isn't classical music.

  • luckyx777 - this isnt classical music now,, but it sure as hell will be one day

  • It already is. Think of Gershwin, Enrico Morricione or John Williams.

They are (were) all composers of fine pieces.

  • Ennio Morricone

  • Him, too,

  • thank you Mr, Williams for evrything!

  • Whenever I hear the music of John Williams, the world gets brighter and the colors get bolder! It feels good to know that music like this is possible. It feeds the soul in hard times. There is kindness and hope in his compositions. They are not just technical exercises to display his virtuosity. His music is imbued with Divinity. Evolving and alive. I'm grateful to have John Williams' music as a major part of my life.
