I'd have loved this video if they weren't lip-synching, and were just acting. Yes, the video makes much more sense if you play the sequence of events backwards. I finally got that after I realized she wouldn't cauterize the wound BEFORE pulling out the bullet. If you've ever seen the Monica Belluci movie "Irreversible" you'll get the cinematographic style of this video. Good to see Dwight Yaokam back in action as well. As others have said, the actress is NOT Lady A's Hillary Scott, but actress Diora Baird.
The order of event is backwards. At the end of the video when the woman shoots Dwight is really the beginning of the events in this clip, so she shoots him then patches him up.

I agreed. The video doesn't fit the song. My wife and I heard the song on our roadtrip vacation; we had thought the song was about the love of a man toward a woman, but the woman, is a close friend, shown no interest toward him. He had hoped that she will come around but FINALLY, he realized that it was not meant to be and decided to let her go...IMO It appeared to be a very very sad song.

Wow, I am loving the new Maroon 5 even more than the older stuff. I love it when bands and singers break off and do things with singers and bands from other genres. It shows the depth of their talent and their versatility. Obviously Adam Levine is very talented and versatile. I wish he would do a solo album, that would the only thing better than this song.
I was just listening to Maroon 5 songs on iTunes and stumbled upon this song. The beautiful harmonizing completely blew me away, so I looked it up on youtube. This video made this song 100x better.
I think he is her husband or lover and she is trying to help to heal the wounds that she has inflicted upon him by her actions. But she is not sincere in her actions. He has seen the real person she is and is going to leave her and she realizes it. In the end, it is his "Love" that she kills not his body with the same actions that caused the wounds to start with.

Yes, the video makes much more sense if you play the sequence of events backwards. I finally got that after I realized she wouldn't cauterize the wound BEFORE pulling out the bullet. If you've ever seen the Monica Belluci movie "Irreversible" you'll get the cinematographic style of this video. Good to see Dwight Yaokam back in action as well. The order of event is backwards. At the end of the video when the woman shoots Dwight is really the beginning of the events in this clip, so she shoots him then patches him up.
If you notice that during the video he gets progressively bloodier when he really should be getting cleaner as he's getting fixed up.
So pay attention to the events them play them backwards and it'll all come clear =D

I agreed. The video doesn't fit the song. My wife and I heard the song on our roadtrip vacation; we had thought the song was about the love of a man toward a woman, but the woman, is a close friend, shown no interest toward him. He had hoped that she will come around but FINALLY, he realized that it was not meant to be and decided to let her go...IMO It appeared to be a very very sad song.

Wow, I am loving the new Maroon 5 even more than the older stuff. I love it when bands and singers break off and do things with singers and bands from other genres. It shows the depth of their talent and their versatility. Obviously Adam Levine is very talented and versatile. I wish he would do a solo album, that would the only thing better than this song.

I think he is her husband or lover and she is trying to help to heal the wounds that she has inflicted upon him by her actions. But she is not sincere in her actions. He has seen the real person she is and is going to leave her and she realizes it. In the end, it is his "Love" that she kills not his body with the same actions that caused the wounds to start with.

Oh i get it why she kills him in the end. They try to fix the wounds in their relationship, but they are just keep going back to the same thing over and over. As Adam Levine says "I need to move on and I need you to try". I think she kills him in the end because she doesn't deal him again.
