Patrick Roy was my all time favourite goalie growing up, he was my idol, no one was ever as good as him during his era. patrick roy is the greatest goalie in NHL history. Now Carey Price is my favourite goalie, hes an INCREDIBLE talent.

Im a Habs fans as well, funny how soon you guys forget about Huet! Hes far better than Price, Huet wouldnt have choked against Philly in the playoffs either. Price ruined the momentum that Montreal had going to the end of the season and into the playoffs, and it showed when they lost.

i would also say hasek and brodeur would put up a much better challenge than price.
brodeur is hands down the best positional goalie to play the game, and hasek goes on the ice, acts like a retarded kid and somehow stops pucks but i cant really see any part of prices game that exceeds the rest of the elite goalies

yeah, to not play in the NHL maybe, but he cant be compared to gods of the game like brodeur and roy.
Even when you look at those 2 you cant compare them to goalies like greg hall who played in net with no helmet or mask which changed the game completely, yet he still managed to get so many shut-outs.
In those days being a goalie was more about survival as well as stopping as many pucks as you could while todays goalies can tend the net without worrying about dieing.

Hasek has definitely the best at reading the play. Thats how he gets away with stuff he does..
Broduer definitely has the best positioning to play the Hybrid style he does competitively against B=Fly goalies..
Roy will always be known for how he revolutionized the position. If it werent for him, Price wouldn't even be playing probably.

seriously when ROY was on the habs he had a 2.47 GAA price has a 2.55 if im not wrong and hes 21 ya maybe he didnt have the best team with him and he carried them all the way to the finals but still price in a few years people are going to putting his name up there they already are :P clearly but thats to early price will be a great great golie one of the best

Price made it to the 2nd round of the playoffs his 1st year, Fluery made 15th place in the east in his 1st year! in Fluery's 2nd yar he came 15th in the east. 3rd year elminated 1st round. Price's 1st year is better than Fleury's first 3! Price is a rookie and everyone thinks he sucks just because he struggled with the pressure of all of Canada looking on him!
