Ace Combat 4 was the best, the other games had fancy weird weapons of mass destruction that just made the rest of the games feel sort of stupid. The weapons of Ace Combat 4 were just more somewhat likely to exist.

The whole time i was wondering where the epic music score, where the plot was (at least in the promo, they don't allude to anything resembling a storlyine)

We can only hope they haven't lost their way, it looked more like a gameplay video that somebody themed to rock music than a proper promo. . .

@InternetLad yeah.. your right on the money in saying that ACE COMBAT spirit we all have been accustomed to are out of the window. The epic STORYLINE of each releases had me on the hook every time I play them. Also the fantasy world was so much fun to play with, understanding the history of the conflict in that fantasy world was one of the few pleasure I have whilst playing. And yes! THE GREAT MUSICAL SCORE that makes the previous AC releases really adds up to the intense epic story of the game.

It APPEARS that the PS 2 is now considered a dinasour. And very few if any new games are being produced for it. It's all PS 3 and X-BOX 360. Which is disappointing to me. Where as the OTHER one is for a measly (Ha Ha) 300 Dollars.

well for ace combat 1-5 you are fighting for a counrty called Osea. Other countires such as Yuktobania and Belkan are your enemy's. They want to take over the world basically and you have to stop them. Most of the time the enemies possess a weapon of mass destruction such as nukes and balistic missles at the end of the game, and if you dont stop them your country osea, and all the rest maybe destroyed. its a fun game, i recommend you play ace combat 5( i think its the best in the series)

yeah the story for this game is confusing. and i havent played this game in like 10 years lol. but those guns are balistic missile launchers. the rocks falling from the sky are just added scenary for i guess an apocolyptic effect. And yellow squadron i think is belka..not sure

the story line goes from the perspective of a man explaining the war from his point of view, as his town is captured by the enemy. the gameplay follows no specific storyline other than the superweapons. Eurusia has developed a superweapon called "stonehendge" which is capable of destroying any aircraft whithin a huge radius. it's destroying all of the nation's planes. other than that, it's just following the war. i dont care for the story, just the amazing game.

AZngsta2 is right. There is allot of stuff that if you pay attention to it, you see connections in it. Take Ace Combat: The Belkan War. The mission were were the nuclear bombs explode. After the bombs explode check your radar. You will see a small blurry blip in the bottom right corner. It is an enemy F-4 Phantom. Go to it and lock on. Read the moniker. It says "HeartBreak 1" Remember : The Unsung War? Uhuh thats him.
