My only thing is with your arms. A couple times you do what my teacher calls chicken arms, like at 0:09. If you extend your arms a bit and soften the hard right angle you have in your elbows and just make it a little more ellagent it would be perfect. That's mostly just watching your self in a mirror and working it out that way.
The only thing I saw was your head movement had too much shoulder involved. The pops and locks will come with time and practice. You're a beautiful dancer! Keep up the good work!!
you "jerk" too much when you move..you need to have more fluidity and "feel" it when you move. your dancing is good--just need to work on your fluidity. plus, dont try and dance like Zoe. Dance like your authentic self. Fluidity and with feeling..
you need to allow fluidity in between those pop locks. it looks like there is a lot of tension in your movement. Just relax and imagine you are an object in fluid motion that gets struck by a wall. I know that's kind of a retarded way of putting it, but it's the only analogy I can think of when I teach my students. Good luck! :)
there are some pointers i can give you tho. When doing the "money move" as she called it, her signature hand thing, do more hand scrolls, and try to accentuate the moves between the pops locks more. it makes the locks more ramatic.
Holy Crap!! I took her work shop and have been trying to remmeber the choreography for so long!! thak you for posting. You're good. I too need work on pops and locks, so perhaps we can learn from each other. :)
Ok, ok, ok, I know people get sick of this comment but really... what IS this amazing music!? I must know... and girlie... you got some tight moves going on. [:
i think that when you do soft movements you amaze, but when you do hard movements you do them too hard, pardon my english i'm not good speaking, anyway youre really good, go on dancing, its complete passion!
I took the same workshop here in Chicago and I don't remember any of the choreo...thanks for reminding me. Keep it up! I sent Sonya the music so, you'll get a link soon. -Lynda
I took a workshop in Pittsburgh on December 2nd with Zoe. Looks like the same workshop. I think you are doing this very well and appreciate being able to view you doing this.
I hear ya with the pop n locks! What I do to make my locks really stick is to go smoothly and fluid like before the pop and just stop like the leading part of the lock just hit a wall. Try it slow at first, and eventually you'll be poppin' it like Zoe!
You've got great fluid motions though, so consider yourself lucky, alot of girls have problems with that!!

If you mean the music to the choreography she's doing....
The first half is "Nightlife" by Amon Tobin and the other (more creepier half) is "Bloodstone" by Amon Tobin as well.
