  • This was a good game. Had a bunch of neat background story. Shame the PC version has DRM protection.

  • k i too was the guy who was a "a good pc is $3000" too in reality a good pc will set u back 1500 or less like mine max bf3 metro blah blah blah and it does everything its a pc take wat ur normal laptop/desktop does and throw in the ability to play games at there visual best and in many cases buying a gaming pc is equivalent to buying a console and a basic pc

  • Yeah p.c is better but god it cost so much money. With console you dont tp pay for an upgrade to play high powered games i.e Battlefied 3

  • As if games weren't expensive enough. Now they're actually telling us how many times we're allowed to play it.

  • Gamecopyworld(dot)com

That is all I have to say for DRM....

  • DRM advocates should walk the plank. If they didn't attempt to monopolize, pirates wouldn't arise in the first place! They're like the East India Trading Company (as portrayed in 'Pirates of the Caribbean'). All monopolies are anti-Randian and deserve to be opposed with a clenched fist. In our own Galt's Gulch, there will be no monopolies!

Hail Danneskjold! Hoist the Jolly Roger!

  • @Alcatraz2169 I felt it was okay on PC. What's better on console?

  • @l0rf the joy of playing a game knowing full well that your enjoying the game on the normal standard and dont have to dumb it down so that your pc rig can take it , i got a 500mb video card and a 500 mb ram

  • @WookhieManJoe Well yeah, PC's are always going to be more powerful, but only if you pump about 3000$ into them, that's why consoles are so appealing I think.

  • @l0rf that and pc rigs are way underutilized , i can get a system that is 100X more powerful than my ps3 but there are no games to show for it , sure i can get better textures / enhancer mods on my games, but its still the same game , not like the 1st crysis when it released it really needed a good system but now shit like that is rare to non existent

  • @WookhieManJoe Right now games are still being made for consoles that have hardware that is 5-8 years old. My Laptop can honestly destroy a PS3 by now. They're cheaper and convenient, consoles, but it also means that my processing power goes mostly underused.

  • @l0rf and thats why i prefer console gaming , refuse to uprage my rig until i see enought stuff that makes the most out of it

  • dose the DRM affect you f you buy it on steam?

  • How the fuck the system limits you to 3 installations if it cannot hardwarely write anything to the disc to limit it?

  • DRM is the worst way of countering piracy. I mean people will pirate the game more often think about it.

  • The funniest thing is that I had to download NoDVD in order to play legitimately bought game, because these un-fucking-believable securom drivers weren't working under Win7. At least I have no installation quantity limit.

  • I've read that you can request more installs by calling Atari hotline. Is that true? What about European players? Otherwise: pffftt-ahahahah I'm not buying it.

    DRM xD.

  • This is probably the worst DRM i've ever seen, i got really hyped when i saw the price on Steam. I think i'll get the 4 times more expensive 360 version, atleast that version works.

  • If DRM makes it to console games I will stop buying new games for good, DRMs wasteful, anti-profitable for the company, and just not needed. Its bad enough its tricky to find used PC games but with DRM you might aswell toss your disc in the trash!

  • @Ryoku75 Guess what...?

  • @MischiefMeerkat What? They're making DRM for console games? Thanks goodness my PS2 still works.

  • Command and Conquer 4, Assassin's Creed 2, and Splinter Cell Conviction all require you to be online.

This is the point, the games are being entirely shot down on reviews and making everyone extremely upset.

  • @Usul573 he he i own them games, for once them games aren't been a whore, i mean theres only a few people banging the game instead of millions yey.

  • Its kinda ironic how only way to awoud DRM taking a piss right in to your eye is to pirate the game

I really hate it when publishers need to make these "ducktape DRM systems" instead of using the already existing systems that actually work,

    like Steam for example.

  • No real reason to buy shit like that, since cracks are all over the internet.

  • what makes you think that PC gamers are newbies?

  • @Smarty4789 pc gamers been around online way longer than console.

  • @applepieestgood

    Turn around.

  • hi there

  • This was a pretty fair game, to be honest. I really loved the Butcher Bay campaign. (Even though it's technically not part of the full game.)

  • Securom and DRM is like gun control. It will NOT stop the pirates and criminals.

It will only screw the legitimate gamers. Thus leading to more piracy.

    How counterproductive ._.

  • Nice riff at the end. Where's it from?

  • Secorum is a good reason for pirating.

  • Can't argue with that one. A game once bought should run on any computer as long as you have the disc and the serial number.

  • yea i cant play online it says its a unvaild Serial WTF xD

  • haha hilarious :P

  • I love how Spoony can beat the shit hell out of fanboys and make them whine all their emotions online ,lolol

  • I'm sure their reaction to his Halo 5 seconds will be classic, but the $60 three hour mission pack is right on the money.

  • Securom sucks ass. Bought the crysis maxium edition recently and tried to install crysis warhead, Securom didn't even allow me to install so i removed it from my pc and sold it to some stupid sucker on amazon saying unregistered and unused. Stupid securom doesn't even allow you to even play the game on vista unless you leave your computer 100% vulnerable. Stupid bastards who ever thought of that bullshit secrom crap. Now i just download all my games off mininova and i am fine play my bf2 online

  • This is why despite having a ridiculously expensive gaming rig I go for the console version whenever possible, securom or not you never really own a pc game. Even when it's just a CD key you're still stuck with it forever for better or worse and stores don't take back any PC game that's been opened.

That and when you put a console game in the console it fucking runs, there's no guarantees with the PC.

  • wow that sucks but the game is acually good if it works

  • This is true.

  • EA is a shit company these days.

  • These days? How about period. When were they ever good other than Road Rash for PC/Panasonic 3DO and maybe Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2. Maybe even Mirror's Edge. Otherwise, their legacy is equivalent to what people leave in a toilet bowl in the morning.

  • No dead space in that list=

  • Haven't played that yet. I will have to give it a try.

  • I faukin hate how these games have securom and limited installations.. I stopped buying sims games because of that, and I don't think I've bought a computer game by EA since

  • my games not running on my pc either -_-

its the same pc that can run L4D at full power

  • What if i live in greece and their phones are in the uk,or in a foreign country?

What if i want to play the game late at night when their suppot line is down?

  • actually you can just email securom and you get back the installations.....its only a big deal if you plan on giving away the game to different people

  • Like Nazis. >_>

  • Hey, if you're a rich ass bitch who likes to pay $50 to rent a game, good for you. But the spyware, securom sending back the history of everything you do on your computer to EA or whatever the gaming company is. Yeah, that's gotta itch a little.

  • whoa is that some type of new protection going around that is just not on

  • Fuck me!! I got this game the other day, can't run the fucker, and now you're telling me it has limited installations!!!

    THOSE MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!!!

  • Woah! Gotta love the Spoonyone!

  • Fuck installation limits. If you install it once you can't resell it or get a refund.

  • man what a waste of cash, thnx spoony for the heads up

  • ^fuck 55 dollares, rapidshare xD

  • uuuh yeah ^^ especially for this game, <_< Fucking waste of cash...

  • i loved it ^^ because i am a riddick fan i guess. oO people seem not to like it that much. mhh...

  • He's talking about the DRM, not the game itself.

  • It has been cracked anyway...some publishers are realy dumb nowadays.

  • It's probably more that fans are so damn awesome!!! A little love for those nice guys who make all this shit free for the rest of us.

  • DRM?

  • Digital rights management

  • wow...i was gonna get that game too. but not now. thanks for the heads up.

this DRM crap is getting out of control.

soon it'll be ONE install. then like...$5 per play

  • DRM is EASILY countered by purchasing the game on Steam. Valve, I love you.

    It is... a virus though.

  • Kinda, now they are making people install steam, a third party software to be able to play games. So steam is a huge part of DRM.

Well it is better than windows live.... uggg

  • You know, I disagree. In my situation, steam is incredible. I live in a small town, with very little choice in games... and obviously they're not here when they come out. So I gotta either drive 30 minutes or buy on steam.... and I really don't care for boxes that will stay in my drawer forever ;)

  • Im not saying its bad, I love steam... most of the time, its a good software, but I NEVER like the fact that games make me install any type of DRM, even if I do have that program already. You shouldn't have to have other programs in the back round to be able to play the game, what happens if that program crashes? then you are fucked. What if that program is complete ass and hogs system performance and is CLEARLY company spyware. I cant cheat in my games that use steam... that shouldn't be. F DRM

  • If you couldn't just log offline and play your games... YEAH it would be complete trash. But you know since you can do it, it's basically just like owning a copy. I mean who doesn't have internet in 2009.

  • Most of Africa by that i mean per person I reckon about 1 PC with net per 100 people? I don't know?

  • Well you do know how to cut straight to the heart of the matter.

  • This Game would've been AWESOME!!!

The people who created this fucked up, but they did a great job on Escape From Butcher Bay, on the XBOX!

  • Uhm, no? Same game. Different plot. And I use that term loosely.

  • Yeah. It's basically Butcher Bay + extra stuff

  • Meh, after replaying butcher bay, I realize that you are right. One more reason it's a mediocre shooter.

  • yeah butcher bay + a whole new game

  • Cyanotich?

  • Something similar happen to me with Spore. My sis got it for me for Xmas. It was only a $5.00 used game so she needed to buy me a $20 card game in case the installs were out. Also I couldn't try it out as soon as I got it because my computer was being upgraded and I couldn't burn an install. The final nail was that my friend wants to borrow it. I can't let him do that.

  • That's the joke. Limiting players to three installs means not actually owning the game, but renting it.

  • That is the single stupidest comment I have ever read, in context of course.

  • I played the PS3 demo, is it better on the PC? (I don't care about graphics.)

  • It's pretty much the same, but the computer version is very resource consuming

  • Comment removed

  • Troll sighted, 20 degrees starboard.

  • im no troll, im just stating my view on why ppl just pirate games.

  • And that's why the PC game market it going under.

  • DRM is a bitch.

  • SO if I bought a PC for around 3k in 2005 and waited till the end of 2009 all I have to do to stay mainstream is purchase a new GPU costing around $200-$600 about the same as a new home console, and if I was smart about building the rig I can also upgrade and keep up with any new tech advances. Don't get me wrong I don't hate consoles (I own all of em) but PLEASE don't judge PCs through such a narrow view, it pisses meh off to no end when people do that, esp when they don't have the whole view.

  • Nothing is perfect Consoles still have issues with games, they either can have nasty lock-ups or hardware problems. And because the hardware is fixed your at the mercy of development limitations such as Oblivion devs having to remove dynamic soft shadowing for all versions since consoles could not support the performance hit. You can dump 3k into a PC and it will last you roughly five years, even longer if you max it, about as long as a console life span.

  • Killzone 2 o_O?

  • PS1 and 2 were around 7 years

  • And it looks like consoles ruined your grammar.

  • lol

  • Why has the ability to comment on the Samuraj Zombie Nation video been disabled?

  • thats acutaly 8 seconds and that 21 seconds of video was funny as hell.

  • the many reasons why pc gaming sucks.

people should stick with gaming consoles for gaming.

  • Uh, no.PC gaming will always be superior to console gaming because of statistics. It has nothing to do with copy protection in any way. PC's will always be several steps ahead of the current gen consoles because they're always being improved. Graphics will always be better on pc than on consoles, the control is more customizable and versatile, and the best games usually debut on pc before console. While some debut on console, they're almost always ported over to pc. Consoles are a dying breed.

  • ...Not to mention consoles wouldn't exist without the same or better technology used for computers first... After all, Concoles ARE essentially computers.

  • Playstation 2 COMPUTER entertainment system. :P

  • Holy shit

  • Hey I like playing games on my mac but console games are way better and don't crash when you try to play a game like crisis.

  • Crysis is most likely crashing because of two reasons:

    1) You need a better graphics card

    2) You need more RAM.

    3) All of the above.

Crysis was a game in which you were required to buy a new computer in order to play it because it was that technologically advanced. In fact, it is currently the #1 best game when it comes to graphics. Nothing looks better than crysis. Because of the technological limitations of consoles, you'll never see it on them.

  • Yeah, but there is nothing else than graphics in this game, sadly it's as glitchy and frustrating as FarCry, and seriously, having to churn out a 5000$ (I voluntarily exaggerate) computer for a single overrated game is bullshit.

  • No, farcry is an amazing game. In fact, it holds a 98% on PC Gamer which places it as on of the highest rated games ever along with half life 2.

In fact the game has been universally praised as the next step in fps. Whenever the game gets a rating lower than an 80% it's because of the steep system requirements which really aren't that bad.

  • As far as how much you have to spend for some computer upgrades, you can buy a completely new computer that will run it in the recommended zone for $700. All that my computer needs is a new graphics card and mine will run it just fine.

My computer costed about $600 when it was new and it's about 1.5 years old. Should probably budget for a new graphics card so I can play it on my own.

If you're talking about farcry 2, I honestly like to pretend that games doesn't exist.

  • I bought my PC 3 years ago, and I've been playi9ng every single PC game until now.

None has given me troubles, neither this one nor fallout 3 or even crysis.

    Everything at it's fullest.

Also why don't you like Far cry 2?

  • As long as you've got a dual core processer at least 2ghz with 2 gb or ram and nvidia 8800 or higher, you'll be fine for crysis. And if you're fine for crysis, you're fine for everything else.

Farcry 2 pissed me off because they purposefully destroyed the single-player to the game. Farcry 2 on the xbox 360 is one of the most frustrating, ill-conceived games I've ever played. If you want a full review of the game, you can PM me and I'll rant on the game there.

  • I got more RAM than General RAAM from Gears of war and crysis still crashes.

  • Ok "Thegamerwalksthroughs" i am an idiot. You are sooooooo cool. Wish i was you.

  • Well, he did make a valid point though. You weren't very funny at all. It wasnt even a joke =P

  • Really? What gives you this impression?

From my knowledge of DRM internals, everything SpoonyOne said here is possible and correct.

Hell, most software included with DRM doesn't even work. It's a horrendously failed concept in that it's done MORE to encourage piracy than it has to prohibit it.

  • What? I never said DRM was good thing.

DRM is the most fucking stupid invention ever; 3 installs my ass, i'd rather download the thing than get ripped off ta

  • QTF!

  • LOL

  • Haha don't worry guys, a crack will be out soon. Shame of such a good game though.

  • I take back what I said earlier. This game has THREE layers of DRM on it. Securom is in fact one of them alongside of Tages and Solidshield. Talk about bloated overkill. I wouldn't be surprised if one DRM scheme conflicts with another and causes stability issues with this game.

  • true, but once you get it to work it is amazing! DL From D2D.

  • What a shame.

    Go back to making DRM.

  • and you wasted more time by writing a comment. Good job.

  • 9 seconds spoony

  • Haha nice! I cant believe it hasnt been cracked yet

  • don´t cry

  • lol sucky-rom

  • Looks like the creator's want you to buy the console verson insted.

  • 0:01

  • 0:12

  • I got this game to work fine. But im pissed off because the Graphics in Dark Athena Suck.. And Yes I mean Dark Athena not Butcher Bay... I saw in the pictures for Dark Athena they had some fine ass graphics but apparentely thats only for console version. FUCK.

  • That's odd. Usually the PC version of a game exceeds consoles visually (we've seen this proven many times already). Did you max out all the visual settings and crank up the resolution? I'm sure the defaults probably don't look to good but configuring it should make it better.

  • Yup. I maxed out every possible thing.

  • Must be a bad port like RE4? I don't know.

  • more than 5 seconds!

  • "This video isn´t available anymore - you watched it more than three times."

  • well conveniently it also helps the sales of console games too, buy the superior pc version, or the inferior , more expensive console version.

  • Anyone know that song at the end?

  • I'm a Barby girl

  • Funny. >.>

  • I would hope so.

  • I've had to download illegal software to run 3 legally bought games. That's fucking insane.

  • So true, but yet so painful...

  • This is why people pirate games.

Why? Because you treat the buyers like the criminals, so the pirates offer a better service then you do.

  • Well, kind of true. Did you see what happened to Demigod on Stardock? It had no DRM/SecuROM whatsoever it was pirated much more than people who bought it. Just something that I thought was interesting.

  • Wrong account, sorry:

Nice, ad hominem. I'm the retard? Really? At least I have reading comprehension and the ability to have an intelligent debate, you don't want that though. Then again, what can I expect from some with a username such as xStalkerxx? Just a troll, apparently.

You missed my point entirely. Some gamers are being hypocrites. You say you don't want copy protection/install limits and you will buy the game. Then, when Stardock does what you want them to, you stab them in the back.

  • but they can't play on official servers only single game....

so basically it is just a Full demo version of the game , if you like it buy it and come enjoy the full experience of multiplayer...

IMHO every game company on the PC should do this, and at the same time you can test if the game runs fine or not on your PC before buying it ...

  • do not be confused people, the copy protection isn't to protect against pirating, it's to get you to buy the game over and over. in fact if you own more than one computer you may as well buy the game for every computer you own in the house.

That's what this is all about they want you to buy multiple copies.

It has nothing to do with copy protection and everything to do with greed. that protection works that if the computer hardware changes, you have 2 times to install it again.

  • Copy protection makes piracy about 600 times fucking worse. Developers should just stop with the fucking install limits, it's absolutely pathetic.

  • it's probably 600 times worse because even the people that legitimately buy it can't even fully enjoy and freely use it as they see fit.

Imagine windows you're not supposed to put on more than one computer also. You're supposed to get a license for each computer you put windows on.

  • By all thats holy... just answer my question. Whats the song title at the end? Have mercy and tell meeee ;(

  • Thats why you only play games on Consoles, duh.

  • rofl hilairious!!!

  • The ending music was awesome. Could somebody tell me what it was?

  • wuts DRM wut does he mean by a litmitation to installaions wuts copy protection.

  • Copyright protection to a game. Meaning, you can't just copy it to a blank disk and make illeagle copies of it. It's part of the gaming industry to try to stop piracy. But in the end, it always backfires to the gamer.

Since you can't install it on the PC, it's just a 55 dollar silver frisbee.

  • Well you could always pirate it or get a console version.

  • Pirating is the reason these copy protection programs are so up the ass. if people stop pirating games then companies like EA won't have a reason to put programs like secuRom on the game and completely fuck you over and your wallet.

  • "Pirating is the reason these copy protection programs are so up the ass"

Yet the reverse is also true.

  • Lols Spoony RockS!!!

  • Something tells me that DRM didn't think about piracy as an alternitive if a game screwed up, hopefully they won't cause any influences, otherwise there might be cars that you could only start 100 times until paying for a code or something. I hope GM dosen't see this.

  • fuck DRM, DRM is just going to turn more people to piracy. Sorry folks, I'm not paying for digital copies I can't even use how I want to.

  • That was EPIC. Couldn't agree more.

  • So true....the only Time I would ever Pirate is if I coudnt find the game lol.....

  • Why does it have an installation limit? I reckon if the disc is useless after 3 installations it encourages people to resort to piracy, not vice versa.
