Let's see a hummer owner and a Tesla Roadster owner drive around for one year and see just how much each owner spends to do the same amount of driving miles. Look at the Performance of The White Zombie or Tesla against any gas powered car and then say something stupid
you are consistantly getting bad information and fail to research before posting:
"it has since emerged that the Tesla, did not run out of electricity.
The BBC today denied it had misled viewers, saying that the programme had "at no time" claimed that the car had run out of power. Programme-makers instead showed it slowing down to illustrate what would happen when the car did run out of charge.

a "debate" is were people engage in civil discussion about a subject of interest to both. It only works when both parties rely on actual, first hand research and critical thinking. I apologize for assuming we were having a "debate".
Anyone that has a problem with electric cars is dumb enough to drop a rock on the ground and miss. If you can drive a whole year without buying gas, then you are the winner. Plus electric cars have full torque at 0 rpms.
We are going to pollute this world anyways. Why not do it less until we get this shit right. Still, having a 100% electric car will solve alot of problems. Once we learn to make batteries more safer for mother Earth, then we all can have a merry Christmas
Wrong!!! Having a electric car will save anyone alot of money every week, month, and year. Do the math. You will save on oil, tune ups, replacing filters, and more. Waiting for the car to charge is not a issue. We all park for hours everyday anyways. Why not charge while parking
CNW Marketing Research published a study[146] in which they estimated that the total lifetime energy cost of a Prius was greater than that of a Hummer. The study is widely cited, and its contents have also been widely challenged: see for example "Hummer versus Prius: 'Dust to Dust' Report Misleads the Media and Public with Bad Science
ok, I'll play along, lets compare an Ferrari and a Honda. My bet is the $20,000Honda wins in gas mileage but people still spend $500,000+ on the Ferrari - why? cause that's what they want
let the Telsa driver go in piece and you keep Humming if you want. Its a free country - with a capitalism based market.
why would you think im a communists? because i like things that work?
you dont even prove anything you just complain i proved and backed up every claim i make not to mention the tesla costs 100k and its a piece of shit from cali so yah ide take a farrari over a tesla everyday and ill tell you why the fararri will strart everyday and be use able 24 hours a day no matter were you want to go
I have 1 more question how long would it take to drive a tesla from vegas to cali? ill anwser for you
forever you would never be able to drive a tesla or any pure electric car from one state to another that makes them in practical and until an electric car can get you from one state to another
all you did was try to insult me and proved nothing about the plus of electric cars
my point was, let the market decide. If paying $100K for a car that needs recharging every 80-100 miles isn't right for you then you don't have buy it.
Why is it so important to you if others do want to buy it?
Just get a FB1 4001a DC motor for $1400, a good Curtis controller, and a good handful of ion lithium batteries. Nano tech batteries are better than lithium, but cost more. Just look up "White Zombie". Having a RWD electric sports car is the answer!!!
@juno4000 it hurts the ecosystem 100x more to make ion batteries then just to drive old v8's around for your ole life the small save on gas will not out balance the oil and fuel it took just to make those batteries
batteries can be reconditioned, recycled, or collected in a dedicated place at the end of their life to minimize pollution. Spraying fossil fuels in the atmosphere through exhaust pipes world wide causes much more pollution to our air and water
Besides, electric cars can use energy stored in other forms; super capacitors, fly wheels, hydrogen fuels cells (maybe?) or some other form we haven't invented yet
# At a 100% charge level, a typical Li-ion laptop battery that is full most of the time at 25 °C or 77 °F will irreversibly lose approximately 20% capacity per year. However, a battery in a poorly ventilated laptop may be subject to a prolonged exposure to much higher temperatures, which will significantly shorten its life
Apparently, the nickel on the Toyota Prius battery is mined in Sudbury, Ontario. It is then smelted nearby where there are reports of local damage to the environment. The nickel is then shipped to a refinery in Wales.
When the nickel is refined, it is sent to China to be made into nickel foam. Then it is shipped to Japan and made into a hybrid battery for the 2010 Prius. Once the car is ready, it is shipped to the United States.
@slinq all that travel ya you guessed it powered by crude oil and fossil fuels
from Canada to England then from England to japan and fk me then there sent to America to be sold three times around the world b4 it even gets to be sold
so you agree with me that a super capacitor or fly wheel would be a more efficient than the present day batteries. thanks.
that said, the footprint of a village in whales and diesel fuel spewed into the ocean still pales in comparison to world wide auto exhaust and leakage into the environment from junk yards.
Either way, electric power, stored in whatever form, is a much more efficient than the status quo
that makes more nonsense then you think until a perfected e-car is made were creating more e-waste then ever b4 and electronic waste is so much worse then the regulated waste from most new v-train engines
Slowly Electric cars are gonna come out. PEople are getting tired of paying too much money on gas. The more on your pocket you spend on other things. Cost me 300 a month of gas now I am forces to drive less because i cant afford it if no gas the inflation stays low.
That is a seemingly obvious point raised by many new to the subject. The good news is studies show less oil is burned while making electricity for multiple cars at a power plant than burning the oil in each internal combustion engine.
Besides, that's just one advantage electric cars have - they are more efficient, have more torque, fewer moving parts to break, quieter, no fumes and less maintenance - oh, and we give less of our money to countries in the middle east.
@MagicTimeVideos but unlike a normal car you have to w8 to let it recharge thats not something you can achieve in the time it takes to fill up on gas.
have you herd of the honda clarity?
it runs of hydrogen and oxygen now thats the car of the future cause it changes nothing but the fuel source.
you may be right about torque but you only really need torque to tow stuff and climb hills both of witch would either burn you juice in no time of just break you motor
Telsa just demonstrated driving from CA to Detroit in their car - it can be done (your not going to drive 1,800 miles in one stretch anyway)
the Clarity is an electric car - but instead of batteries it uses hydrogen for energy storage. Jules Vern proposed using hydrogen 130 years ago and the same limitations remain; collecting (takes energy to get it from the atmosphere), storage (i.e. hindenburg) and infrastructure (replacing every gas station)

I wouldn't worry too much about the weight. It is important to distribute it evenly. what i would do is to put the motor in the back wheels as it is a rear drive and put the batts in the front in a secure box. its up2 you
Holy shit who are you people? I didn't think there were people like me out there, I want to convert my Honda Prelude to electric... but I don't want to joke around, I want it to be just as fast, so I'm thinking about somehow obtaining a Tesla Motors' Lithium Ion batteries or something similar to that.......

there is no website that says you have to buy two or three to use "your tesla regularly". I never said there was.
there are quite a few that say you can buy one and use it daily.
