Don't be too sad-- Mr. Brett lived his life as well as he could, doing gracious work and leaving us with an amazing interpretation of Holmes. We all die, but so we all leave humanity such gifts?
"I felt cheated"... I bet he did, losing his mum while having a newborn baby and a marriage that was failing... And being a manic depressive (which he didn't know at that point in his life) I'm sure made it all even more difficult to deal with. Not the best years of his life I think, poor JB.
Agreed, he looks good at this point compared to in the SH series, but those meds have him sweating like crazy. I gotta tell you, my heart jumped when his voice came on. Such an indescribable loss. He'll always be a fave of mine, an outstanding individual, and a class act.
I have lived with manic depression for some years now, and Jeremy has been an inspiration.
To watch him now with the knowledge of what he must have been experiencing on the inside is truly an example of how to live with the cancer that is depression.
Thanks for sharing this with us Jeremy fans. I highly recommend Bending The Willow by David Stuart Davies for more information on Jeremy and his struggle with his illness. Love Brett.
Thank you so much for this clip! While it is heartbreaking to see him in this condition, I believe it is a must see for any Jeremy lover. Lovely and generous of you to share it with us all, sweet ChristinaH3000! Yes, how I love this man! :)
This is his last public appearance before he died and it's so heartbreaking to see him in this condition, sweating profusely due to the side effects of his heart ailment. But he's still darling Jeremy the ability to mesmerize still not gone. How I love this man!
Side effects of his heart ailment? Rather side effects of the Lithium he took against his "manic depression"! Did you that this "medicine" actually CAUSES heart problems? (many die from sudden cardiac arrest.) Psychiatry makes me furious! (nearly killed me too. With their "cures".) Love you forever Jeremy!
Aww, Jeremy! :(
I really miss him.

So short! is there any more?
He doesn't look that awful at all, imo. Yes, he's sweating, but there are some Sherlock Holmes episodes where he looks a lot more ill and worse.
