A fart would naturally be at body temperature, and so warmer than the surrounding air. So it should show up as white (or at least bright), not as black.

(And yes, hot = bright rather than dark. Note how the hand of the passer-by at 3-4 seconds is brighter than his/her arm, which is presumably covered by a sleeve. And how human bodies in general are brighter than inanimate material like the floor.)
