This was the best performance followed by MJ's! Madonna had some nice props, but she rahter stiff! How dare she repeatedly try to clown Janet when she can barely move?
There's lots of comparison with Diana and Madge's performance. Both are successful women in the industry. However, for me, Ross half-time performance was better. She gave us more music. Madonna with a huge catalog, only gave us 4 songs. Two of which I didn't care for New song and Music. Ross sings live and Madge...oh well. Ross class Madonna theatrical. We will have to see if Madge's performance will make it in the all time greats. Ross already has cemented herself as the first female to be in!
@rosshangover yeah, but in a way, Ross over did the presentations. She crammed too much into 13 mins. what was tacky was the costume changes the cam picked up on her and it wasn't pleasant to me. Still she's trying to sing, off key, etc...The song transitions came from out of nowhere! Don't get me wrong, as I have stated in other threads, Ross' performance in this venue is one of my top three to date of Super Bowl (for entertainment). Today is a new day and how artist present and perform!!!!!!!!

for that being over 15 yrs old, i'm calling it that was single handedly the greatest superbowl halftime i have ever seen, over mccartney (close second) over springsteen, over even the king of pop. that was absolutely spectacular, amazing, captivating, relevant (for the time and even a bit by todays standards) and just all in all a solid live performance. I absolutely loved it. It will be hard to top this one for me. Good luck to anyone in the future, but i don't think anyone will ever top this.

The ONLY things, IMO, that would have made this show better would have been to use live instrumentation, a full orchestral track(s) and a full gospel chorus, instead of the kids.
